You might want to offer your servers as a free linux download mirror.

Your not the first to state/try this and you won't be the last. You can't offer unlimited you can't sustain a profit. If you think you can your kidding yourself

1 month is not much do you have figures to prove the uptime?

Agreed.

Good try, HostUltra, however just because you write something doesn't make it true.

Writing like you, or others, do that 'true unlimited exist' is just insulting other's intelligence.

Well, just checked and there are some catchs...

1st. There is a popup banner 10 sec after closing the browser

2nd. No files more than 1MB is allowed

I think after all, a good solution for some pictures? Since it's free? :)

I personally think the guy has a right to keep filesizes down, after all who wants to give space to warez downloads and the like? He states the service is for liegitimate sites only, not download dumps, and how many people have a php script that`s bigger than 1Mb per file? And if your images are bigger than 1Mb there`s some great software to compress them.. So for hosting a real site, I don`t see the 1Mb filesize as a problem, the popups don`t sound too good though, but nowadays most folk have popup killers, I know I wouldn`t be without mine.. But I would want to promote a company offering free space so would there be a way to display a banner ad instead of having a popup?

Upon closing their 35MB.com page, hostultra wanted to set itself as my homepage AND attempted to install some .EXE file. In addition to opening MANY popups that were hard to get rid of.

Everytime Host Ultra posts one of his ads they get a ton of replies saying the same thing in every one.

Everyone knows "unlimited" does not exist. But if someone is interested in Host Ultra's offer should do research on unlimited instead of viewing a million post everything criticizing him.

Nothing can be done about making hosts not be able to offer "unlimited", so if Host Ultra can do it and make profit, plus make his customers happy, than I see nothing wrong with it. If you don't like it, don't host with him!

This is also the "advertising" forum and this is Host Ultra's thread. If you want to flame all the unlimited hosts then go to a web host forum and start a different thread about Host Ultra.

Regards,
Mike:)

Hi
I have a gallery site that hold about 10,000+ high quality jpgs from my digital camera all under 1 mb (about 700k-800k). I take about 80gb of bandwith and 10gbs. You think you can host this???? :stickout

Isn't it about time that the moderators censor the word "unlimited"? :D

If you sign up with this site you will not get repeat visits, that's for sure! I visited their website and browsed their forum. I almost signed up seeing how many members where posting in their forums, but then one member posted their URL for people to check out so I did just to see. When I left their site I got 10-15 pop ups, a message box confirming if I wanted to set HostUltra as my homepage and it attempted to download a file (setup.exe) to my computer. The pop ups had pop ups! And it took me several minutes to get rid of them. I wouldn't go back to your site if you signed up with these people and I had to go through that! One person even complained about the number of pop ups on thier site and the moderator (HostUltra) got rude and ended the thread. It's not worth it!
