Hi!

I need you to tell me which color is more "orange" to you, and if possible, why.

Text Example:

Orange #1 - #D7982A

Orange #2 - #FF3300

#2 is more orangey to me. Why? I don't know, because it reminds me more of the fruit?

I'll bet if you held up a standard grocery store orange to your screen, F30 would look more like the same color. F60 and F90 would be even closer.

#1 looks more gold than anything.

Funny, I think #1 is more orange to me. #2 looks more red. I think this is the best orange: #DD7500

I agree, #1 is more orange to me. #2 looks too similar to red.

This is orange, according to vBulletin. If I had to pick from those two above, I'd pick #1.

Being really picky I wouldnt say either were orange :P

1 - Goldy brown color
2 - Its too close to red to be orange Imo.

But if I really had to chose, I would say 2 is more orange.

If I had an orange the colour of #1, I would throw it out :P

1 looks like brownish tan and 2 is orangey red :)

In very small shapes, like your text, #1 looks good. However in anything larger than a few pixels, #2 looks best.

No more no less, none is orange.

It would depend on context. I agree with Richard, if it involved regular text, I'd go for #1; for anything bigger, #2. Both are quite a bit off from my personal perception of orange though.

To make things more complicated, I'd say it all depends on your screen :) and the fact that there're millions of colors.. what looks like orange to me may look like carrot to you.. and what looks like carrot to you may look like banana to others :D

... And they laughed when I told them my second monitor was an eMachines CRT. Good point.

I was viewing the samples on a Planar monitor, and Planar tends to make their screens VERY bright, compared to most LCDs (not just CRTs).

Right now, I'm looking at the samples on the DLP TV in my living room. On this screen, either sample could pass for orange, depending on the context. #1 is golden orange, and #2 is reddish orange. Again, I think you'll get much closer to true orange with FF6600 or FF9900.

Agreed. Definately #2

I would think #2 as well but I'm semi-color blind so I guess my vote should be invalidated :D
