In your opinion what CMS is better for ecommerce and why?

I've narrowed it down to Joomla's VirtueMart and Drupal's e-Commerce because of their features, simplicity, and cost (free!). But I can't decide between the two!

Opinions are welcome and very much appreciated!

Do you mean VirtueMart or Ubercart? (http://www.ubercart.org/)

I'd choose Virtuemart, because it has larger support community.

No, I meant what I said - but is Ubercart better than VirtueMart in your opinion? If so, why?

Thanks.

Among the choices, I would say VirtueMart is better.. purely because it has a larger userbase and it will be easier for you to find help.

Personally though.. I love osCommerce.. have used it a lot, and with the right ideas, it can be tweaked to fit any needs perfectly...

I looked at Virtuemart around 6 months ago, posted 3 questions on their forums of which none were answered so i gave up. The thing you need to consider is who is taking care of security upgrades and if its just a community then is the security of your store and your customer's details important enough for you to look elsewhere?

I would suggest you to go for Drupal as

1.Smooth and easy to install
2.Excellent Category module.
3.Robust Framework
4.Over all Performance

Hope it helps you better
