I own okihost.mobi and I am not sure what to do with it yet. I am thinking of possibly allowing clients to open tickets via mobile device, maybe just have a small server status page or even both :)

Guess I am just looking for ideas and I was not sure if any of you have doing anything creative with them :)

Yeah, we do mobile hosting through hostdemon.mobi and regular hosting through hostdemon.net. Mobile hosting is one of the markets for hosting that makes us different than regular hosts.

Actually, your site looks move like a marketing site... with just info. Not that it is bad... looks good.... I have the same type of site, a site where I market my stuff, but don't sell anything via a mobile phone yet...

I'm still on the fence with .mobi... not sure if the url will be needed going forward... most companies still use mycompany.com/mobile or .m.mycompany.com... that can do the same thing as a .mobi...

With mobile screens getting bigger and better, I don't know if we will have a need for small screens in the future... might be a wash....

Good point, I have thought about adding WHMCS Mobile Edition to my .mobi website to do all the things a regular hosting site can do but portable. One problem with technology is the slow uptake. Mobile websites are somewhat limiting in design due to W3C Standards. Only like 1 in 141 websites are actually ready for mobile devices.

Cons
Phone Companies data plans for surfing the web on a mobile device can be very expensive
Most people don't use mobile devices to order products and services online. (They listen to music, send pictures & video, text msg, and sometimes even make calls?)
Only like 1 in 141 websites are W3C Compliant (but unless they can do wonders with CSS, they can be very plain & boring)
So new its lost on most unfortunatelyPros
More people own a cell phone that both a tv & pc together (shocking huh?)
Its new and has some novelty to it.
Greater access = More Profit (the more traffic to your website the better your odds of people buying right?)
Mobile Devices can include devices other than a cell phone, pda, palm pilot, etc (think, your kids Sony Psp, PS3, Ipod, etc)Okay, I'll let you in on a secret to my success and what makes our hosting solutions different than others - Always thinking outside the box!

Lets take a iPod or even the new iPhone for an example. What if a iPod was used to do Podcasts for business meetings?

- The amount of overhead to book a place would be none.
- The ease of download from a company private intranet or subscribe to a feed would be far better and more fun.
