I have always used the RELEASE tree but is there benifits to going with the Bleeding Edge tree or one of the other settings? If so whats the pros/cons of doing such?

Bleeding edge is not suitable for production as its straight out of development.
Release build is well tested in production.
I always use Current because it has the latest features and it has some testing in production.

Yeah, we've been using the CURRENT builds for a long time without any real problems.
Like you already said, I would avoid EDGE for anything production related (important servers), otherwise stick to CURRENT or even RELEASE if you want a little extra peace of mind. :)

RELEASE tree
I read about issues with CURRENT all the time. Also when things go STABLE I hear about stuff breaking as well due to just a dramatic change.

I play with EDGE on a nonproduction box from time to time but I would never touch it with a 30ft pole in production. I stay on the RELEASE build, but that's a personal preference to be safe. I find STABLE to be about as buggy as any of them.

Thanks for everybodies opinions.
I will keep it on release as it sounds the best at the time.

Release is really the preferred version to run, I only use Current because I like the latest features and dont mind poking about to fix any bugs that come up :stickout:
