ok, hey mates, posted that on anothewr site, but maybe ppl are more interested in WHT:]

i wanted to ask you what do you think about this software:

http://www.kanzelsberger.com/ - pixel image editor...

since i use photoshop at work + i really dislike gimp as it is not really good tool for website graphics, i decided to grab 2 copies ( 1 for my wife ), of this to start doing freelancing stuff with it ( in europe photoshop is expensive as hell ).

Its still buggy in its current state, but its the only tool that looks and feels more or less like photoshop and it actually works ( but slow :P )

did anyone else had experience with this tool and if so what do you think of it :]

I tried it under linux and did not like it but I do not like photoshop ether so that does not mean much.

I hugely admire the effort, but it is too much for one person (and to my knowledge that is the size of pizel32 development team). That is why project progress is too slow (bugs too slow to fix, new features too slow to implement and overall there are no many changes between now and year ago).

i had the pleasure to test 2 beta versions, and i must say that the improvement over previous one was the thing that convinced me to switch, if beta 8 ( any time now before christmas as the autor says ), will fix all the stuff that author mentioned, this should be a software that is enough full featured for web developement - or i invested the money into wrong tool ;P

When you ask about the best text editor out there, there'll always be those who will refer you to Notepad. When it's about graphics, they'll tell you Paint.. if you're serious, don't listen to them :) yes you can use Notepad (if you don't mind som slavery work), but Paint?
Anyways, before I started to use Photoshop (and started to be serious about what I do), I used PaintShop Pro which was free then and it was before they joined Corel. Give it a try if you can't afford PS. The price is $89.99 USD.
