I have a friend who paid an unbelievable amount of money to an SEO company a while back to optimize her site and get her rankings up. So, now she does show up on the first page on the key words she wants. Now, that bad news, she switched companies and has a new domain name, she would like to retain her rankings with new name.

She owns both domains. When people click on here link from a google search she is just re-directing to the new name. However the google search is showing the old domain name which she doesn't want.

I don't see a fix here but thought I would ask you all.

Thanks,
rich

What sort of redirection is she doing? Is it a 301 permanent redirect or something else?

I think currently she is just doing a very simple re-direct choosing the option from her host to just point to another name. I did some reading and the 301 re-direct
seems to be the way to go. I still think it's going to be a challenge maintaining
her rankings via Google.
