View Full Version : ticket system needed

Hello,

After searching I have found most seem to be attached to a billing system which I don't need. I need a standalone ticket system that will allow me to put users into groups based on what server they are on. I don't need any of the extra knowledge base / faq features.

Also must be email compatable with auto responded function for ticket assignment. Preferably an owned license.

Any suggestions?

Cerberus is very nice, and is free for up to three users to start out with. I'm considering using it even though my billing app (whmcs) already has a ticket/kb system.

I have been using Trellis Desk. Works well and is simple.

I've used Cerberus, Kayako, and SupportTrio. I like all three, they each have their bonuses. I've been satisfied with SupportTrio which is our current desk. The Trellis application certainly looks very appealing though.

Trellis does look interesting. Too bad there's no 'livesupport' setup integrated with it :(

Another vote for Support Trio as a standalone script but we've moved to WHMCS which is everything all in one :)

We had problems with Kayako's Live Support function which ruined our opinion of their software. It doesn't seem very reliable. Much better reliability with LivePerson or HCL. Kayako's eSupport (just the ticket system) however was a nice thing, but when we bought the SupportSuite which included both the LiveResponse and the eSupport we were a little disappointed when our clients would time out on the chat constantly.

WHMCS is by far the best ive used.

If your after anything for FREE maybe take a look at 'Hesk'.

otrs.org has OTRS..
Very scalable and huge helpdesk system..but it requires quite some effort to initially setup and like.. but its a really good one and can be installed in both windows and linux.

What I like most of it is its continuously being developed and that makes it always having features added to it..

btw its free too :)

osticket ( osticket.com) also seems nice. Another free one and it has recently been reactivated..

Paid ones : Cerberus and Kayako rocks!

If you want to use a FREE one then I'd recommend OsTicket. You can easily modify it and its very very easy to use as well...

We have used Smarter ticket, kayako trial, osticket and support trio.
Support Trio is best of this lot although db gets huge. we have 30k tickets in our ticket system after trimming the db is 3gb.

Kayako is unrliable,
Smarter Ticket is reliable but very low on features and over the board pricing for what it is.
osticket is worse out of these.

eTicket (http://eticket.sourceforge.net) a fork of osTicket is also quite fine, being free and open source.

Another free one is EXO PHPDesk (http://www.exoscripts.com) it has got quite a good feature list http://www.exoscripts.com/exohelpdesk

I'm also another one for osTicket. It's open source code so it's free and you can customize it very easily. It's also very easily integrated into email accounts for forwarding ticket replies to your osTicket account.

We highly recommend Kayako also. We use it and most of our software vendors also use it. We like it so much that we resale their licenses and offer to host it. Visit their website and play with their free trial.

http://exoscripts.com/exohelpdesk looks very good. We've not used it on our site, but have had contact with others that use it.

I think Kayako is probably one of the best, if not the best solution out there.

You can make it as advanced or as simple as you need.

Kayako SupportSuite and Ubersmith both have nice ticket systems. Kayako is definitely the less expensive of the two.

Good luck!

As you can see their are numerous for you to choose and all have their own set of features which make them unique and similar all the like. My choice would be Kayako, Cerebus, SupportTrio, if your looking quality in your product. For free, OTRS is really nice.
