View Full Version : Anyone a Dotster reseller?
TeKiZeRo 08-07-2002, 04:45 AM Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here used the Dotster service as their domain registrar on their site. If you are, can you PM me. I have a few questions if that's OK :) .
sitekeeper 08-07-2002, 07:20 AM Try sending a PM to dandanfirema he is from AlphaOmegaHosting.Com
http://www.AlphaOmegaHosting.Com
I know he is with Dotster...
Incognito 08-07-2002, 08:47 AM And have been for quite a while. Fire away with your questions.
cactus 08-07-2002, 12:58 PM I am also a Dotster reseller. If you need any help just ask.
For how much do you get domain names as a dotster reseller? :confused:
Incognito 08-07-2002, 01:46 PM The regular price is $12.00. This includes Dotster handling all merchant fees, etc. So, anything over $12.00 comes to you.
For volume resellers, they may offer lower fees. However, any information on that would be confidential.
brn2h8 08-07-2002, 04:44 PM I have a question...
At what amount do they send you a check? I have emailed them and never heard anything from them.
Incognito 08-07-2002, 09:55 PM DOTSTER agrees to remit all payments to Reseller that have accrued hereunder withing 20 days of the end of each month in which commissions accrue to more than $50
TeKiZeRo 08-08-2002, 02:26 AM When I use the Register domain link with dotster, it takes me to another page with the text all in times new roman. I tried to change the text some how using the style sheet, but there is nothing on there which has times new roman listed as a text. Anyone know how I can change the font text on the registration page?
Thanks in advance.
cactus 08-08-2002, 05:32 AM Login to your reseller account under "Edit Style Sheet" you can customize it to blend it with your site.
TeKiZeRo 08-08-2002, 01:30 PM I tried that but theres nothing in the stylesheet with a times new roman font, so I can't edit it to make it verdana.
blob2 08-08-2002, 01:36 PM By the sound of things you are not used to using css style sheets.
Try creating a new line in your style sheet with with the font you want.
TeKiZeRo 08-08-2002, 05:44 PM Where would I put this css stylesheet after I created one?
cactus 08-08-2002, 09:20 PM Add 2 new lines in body section and play around with the font size/color size, background color, or add some more to suit your requirements.

/* controls basic properties of the entire document */
body {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
text-color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: Arial,Helvetica,Verdana;
font-weight: 600;
color: #FFFFFF;

WiseOnline 08-08-2002, 09:22 PM I'm also a reseller. BTW, does registerfly.com have resell features?
TeKiZeRo 08-08-2002, 11:26 PM Awesome!
Everything works!
Thanks peeps! :D
chinchilla 08-09-2002, 12:15 AM Oh good, a Dotster reseller thread already open...
I'm having a problem with the header and footer on just one page of my Dotster reseller site -- the registration agreement page. I recently changed all the headers and footers listed on the administration page (DEFAULT, Register Section, Expired Domains and Account Management). There are no others listed to change, yet the old header and footer (which are horrible and completely unusable) still show up on the Registration Agreement.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? I don't want to make the pages available on my web site until it's straightened out.
TexasMan 08-09-2002, 02:40 AM You can resell Dotster for $9/year if you join the International Webmasters Association, and no $150/setup fee. See http://www.iwanet.org to join. It costs $50/year, I believe, and has other benefits...
This is an external plug... I am not connected with IWA, except as a member. :D
