Would you recommend using it? davidb 08-07-2002, 04:55 PM Most people who use it, love it, all the other ones are colorfull peaices of crap. I would search to get a more detailed responce. DotComster 08-07-2002, 04:57 PM Plesk users love it, and if you're used to cPanle or ensim, just give it a couple of weeks. I'v never used it personaly, but hear good things about it. p1net 08-07-2002, 06:35 PM It's quite good, but PSA 5.0 is coming out in a few weeks and is supposed to be much better!!! iamdave 08-07-2002, 11:25 PM Originally posted by davidb Most people who use it, love it, all the other ones are colorfull peaices of crap. WHy cant it store home directories in /home like a normal server? Like, its either all or nothing with plesk it looks like. iamdave 08-08-2002, 09:06 PM Originally posted by ntwaddel what i dont fully understand about plesk is why does it have to have total control over your box? why does it install its own httpd, and all its own services? But it's fast/secure/stable... ntwaddel 08-08-2002, 09:14 PM Originally posted by iamdave But it's fast/secure/stable... oh who cares about those things anyways ;) so if i want to upgrade apache, qmail, proftpd, php, anything like that, can i just upgrade from source or rpms, or do i need to do the upgrade through plesk? ckpeter 08-08-2002, 09:46 PM If you have the RPM version, you can upgrade the packages yourself. Peter AcuNett 08-08-2002, 10:17 PM You can upgrade anything even with the Standard version, except for apache, qmail, proftpd (not sure), and mysql |
