Are you running a website that can only be access by some people and you do not want other people sitting behind proxies? I am asking as most of the internet users are behind proxies.

I see. Just block them on the IP level using iptables. Will this approach be good for you?

are your downloads behind a login? do the people using the web proxy have to login? if so, you can usually stop this by using javascript to break up your login form html so the proxy doesnt see it as a form... i know friendpulse[dot]com has that installed on the login page. you can see it there for an example.

that simple javascript stops most web proxies from logging in.
