HI GANG..

I have recently purchased an expired domain with a good volume of links which i would hope to use to enhance a current website
i anticipate developing further.

the domain www.supportconcept.com is no longer in use, but apparently has a few thousand links by the previous owner according to someone who has offered me a few "unsolicited" bucks for it. (i tried a google link check, but couldn't get it to work for me ....doh!!)

can anyone advise the best and safest way to re-use../..utilise
these links to enhance the current website, without losing or damaging the current links.

i understand that there is a "correct way" and a "losers way" to do this .. so please give informed advice which will be greatly appreciated.

best regards
klickmarket.

How did you deduce there are thousands of links? Have you checked your access log or you rely on the words of the seller?

Isn't there a way to go to a search engine and verify this type of info. I think you put like links and then the URL or something like that, but I'm not sure. Any info in this area is appreciated.

To check Link Popularity,
go to: http://marketleap.com/publinkpop/default.htm
and enter www.supportconcept.com

It returns the following results:
www.supportconcept.com
Alltheweb: 4
AltaVista: 4
AOL: 628,000
Google: 628,000
HotBot: 2
MSN: 2
---------------- +
Total: 1,256,012

There's something fishy with the above results, because AOL and Google return high links whereas others only return the maximum of 4.

It's incorrect. Google has gone nuts. If you see the URL highlighted it says "www.yahoo.com" :D

That's why I said there's something fishy going on there.

you can also do a popularity search on most of the major search engines with this command

link: <url>

Try http://www.expirednic.com/linkpop/
this is what I got for it. Don't use www.
if you use www in front of the name, you'll get crazy results.

Google 0
AllTheWeb 4
AltaVista 0
AOL 0
MSN 2
HotBot 2
Lycos 3
