They had an article about him on National Public Radio last night, very interesting .. one of the fathers of basketball.

Never heard of him myself, but guess he was wellknown over there.

I certainly wasn't attempting to make light of Mr. Hearn's death. When a man dies at the age of 85 (my grandfather is 85, something I have thought about) it is better to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. Recognizing his accomplishments is the point of the article you mentioned and the audio commentary I linked to. However, my apologies ... I grew up a Laker fan as well.

It is understandable to celebrate his death rather than to mourn it, however, it is still death, and should not be assosiated with neither fun nor with childish humor.
