View Full Version : starting new company
retrohelix 08-06-2002, 06:39 PM Hello.
I am starting a new company [a hosting company]. Basically, I would like to Go with Kualo - UK or US, with the reseller account.
I am based in the UK, but US people should not be a problem.
Basically, I am looking for 1 or 2 People to become partners with. I am Only 14. I know you will think I should work in McDonalds, but i do have some good advantages;
i) I am very Business Minded. Nothing will happen without a Business Plan, appropriate Bank Accounts being sorted, etc..
ii) I am very Well Educated. I go to one of the Best Schools In the UK, Therefore you do not have to worry about me sending out Badly Written Emails / Helpdesk Responses full of typos and bad grammar.
iii) I have already done some research, and i have got Software on its way, such as phpManager, for account extras.
iv) I have experience with setting up scripts with PHP/Perl etc..
If we Put in about £100 ($150) each, we can get a good reseller account, a nice design, and also advertising.
If Anybody Is Interested, please:
email me at: aalibhai06@hotmail.com
or pm me
or talk via msn at: aalibhai06@hotmail.com
very Best Regards to You All,
Asif Alibhai
MsRoxie 08-06-2002, 07:01 PM You sound like you know exactly what you want, but in the US I think anyone under the age of 18 can not go into a contract with anyone. Meaning, we could sign a contract saying we share this business, but it would not be legally binding. I think it may be possible if your parent sign it or something.
Good luck to you! :)
DoobyWho 08-06-2002, 07:37 PM $300 for a design , reseller account and advertising? heh
retrohelix 08-06-2002, 07:40 PM Hello.
Sorry, May I Point out that:
$150 x 3 = $450
If it is just two of us, then it will probably have to be about $200 each.
Kind Regards,
Asif Alibhai
Chaps 08-06-2002, 07:42 PM sure DoobyWho...
Someone will do a full site on here for $20...buy a lifetime reseller package from the now defunct EarHost.com ($200) and by an $80 banner ad on a fish and wildlife website. How could you go wrong with that budget?
:stickout :stickout :stickout
Crimson 08-06-2002, 07:53 PM You can get reseller plans for $30 a month, and you can get a design for $20 upwards.
WII-Aaron 08-06-2002, 07:55 PM "...Responses full of typos and bad grammar."

DoobyWho 08-06-2002, 08:01 PM lol chaps.
Acroplex 08-06-2002, 08:18 PM Venture capitalists ask these days:
"What is your exit plan?"
rlynch 08-06-2002, 09:07 PM just do it urself. save urself the trouble of getting a partner uve never met before. $450 is not a lot of money. just save up
Acroplex 08-06-2002, 09:09 PM Yeah don't go down to your local pub every day. :D
PetTalk 08-06-2002, 09:29 PM Is it just me or do some people's posts sound unnecessarily rude and sarcastic?
Crimson 08-06-2002, 09:30 PM I agree
Acroplex 08-06-2002, 09:30 PM Some people have no sense of humor either.
PetTalk 08-06-2002, 09:32 PM I have a great sense of humor when I'm viewing something amusing.
Acroplex 08-06-2002, 09:33 PM So do I :D
21inchguns 08-06-2002, 09:51 PM definitely do this yourself.........
It is a lot of trouble to try and establish partners that are located in different parts of the world.......
It is even difficult dealing with partners in the same geographical location.......
Starting out as a reseller would not really require 2 partners....Maybe after you grow the business for a while and learn a lot more, then you can start looking for partners.......
You are still very young, so dont worry about rushing into it....If the money is the main reason you want partners, then just get a job anywhere and save..........
anyway, good luck with whatever option you choose.....

No, really?
talash 08-07-2002, 03:36 AM I think it will be a nice idea to team up with someone who can share your work if required. What i understand is that you go to school and in such cases if there are two partners, it is easy to share work load and responsibilities. Dont just base your partner on money, since you can earn that or save that :) Should not be very difficult.

retrohelix 08-07-2002, 05:07 AM Hello.
Money is Not a Problem. I have *plenty* saved up.
Basically, I am going to be at school quite a bit of time, so what I wanted is someone that can reply to emails, sort the helpdesk, etc....
Also, if things get a bit top-heavy, i.e lots of customers signing up at one time, etc.. I want to be able to handle it.
Having a aartner means you can always have someone to rely on.
Kind Regards,
Asif

fusioncities 08-27-2002, 08:14 PM I was running a webhosting company called fusioncities.com It is still running, but I'm trying to get it to run on a linux system. If you are going to do reselling, I would make sure that you have linux boxes and not windows 2000 systems. I've had soo many viruses, and people hacking into the site. I had 2 firewalls, but it still let people in...
If you need anyone to do some designs/layouts. I can help you out...
webmaster@fusioncities.com :)
