check this out: www.cpanelgui.com

basically a windows CPanel interface so that clients can administer their website using a program from within windows. The demo looks pretty good and is IMO a little more user friendly than CPanel itself.

CPanel gui however requires a $200 server option.

just wanted to hear everyone elses thoughts on this

I think it's a rippoff. It's just a simple windows application with the Internet Explorer activeX control in the back. In other words, it's just a souped up browser.

I could be wrong, but that's the feel I got when I tried it out a month ago.

Hi,

I'm the developer of cPanelGui and would like to clarify a few things here..

cPanel Gui is far from "a rip off" and a "simple windows application" and a "souped up web browser".

If I was out to do that, I would have made a webbrowser screen with a drop down box with links in it, like another similar product.

No, this product was designed from the ground up, to use a built in browser only when absolutely needed or wanted. TCP routines with XML and HML parsing of the lowest bandwidth cPanel template available is the predominate method here. We don't need the graphics of a simple browser, we make our own graphics in the client. This is why the transfer and speed is so quick..

The program uses some of the best skinning routines available to make the program function like Winamp, Neoplantet, etc. Giving you the ability to change it's looks or your resellers to easily change it.

There is built in auto-updating, multiple account support, switch between web mail accounts from a easy to use button, traceroutes, ping, support email, diagnostics screen, l could go on and on here. There are many more functions available to this program then a standard web browser could possibly do. Bringing this to the Windows desktop, we now have the power we need to add so many more things!

As far as being a rip off.. Whew.. I spent 1 year on this project, it is very clean and it shows. It was hard work, it took lot's of planning and time away from family and kids to do it but it is paying off now for us and others.

The program WILL make you money, you will return more then the investment you will need to make to get going. I have clients already that are seeing the increased sales from this product, one in particular is very popular here and with proper marketing, has over 300 clients using it right now on a new server, the result of cpanelgui.

If not by the added features and abilities we now have at our hands, then at least recognize that in this over crowded market, you now have another tool to stand out from the rest.
