Thanks =) The Prohacker 08-06-2002, 04:28 PM Normally they are leased/rented... If your looking for that option then I'd suggest talking to DanielP, a member here, his company is effectonline.com In June, DarkOrb, cpanel maker, was offering to sell perm licenses for around $1400 I believe.. gleet 08-06-2002, 04:33 PM well I was thinking about monthly charges. Haha... bdraco 08-06-2002, 04:33 PM Originally posted by The Prohacker Normally they are leased/rented... The 1400 was extended till Dec 1st. You can email billing@cpanel.net for more info as this is not the ads forums. multipleimage 08-07-2002, 12:01 AM $1400 for a perminant cpanel license. Not bad. Beats $100/month. The Prohacker 08-07-2002, 12:34 AM Originally posted by multipleimage $1400 for a perminant cpanel license. Not bad. Beats $100/month. Not really.... The average monthly cost of a cpanel license would be about $60... 1400/60 = 23 months.. So it'd only be cheaper if you plan to have cpanel for more than 2 years, mind you, you'd have to pay an update fee for the second year of updates... So lets just take a guess and say you'd have to own Cpanel for 30 months to make it worth your while.... Do you think cpanel is gonna be around in 2 years? Will there be something better to take its place??? Even if you pay $100/month, it'd only be worth if if you used it for prolly 16+ months, because of the 1 year of updates, so you'd need to renew... multipleimage 08-07-2002, 07:10 AM I personally doubt cpanel will be along that long but we do not use cpanel as our control panel. We have mergered over to h-sphere. StevenG 08-07-2002, 08:32 AM Originally posted by multipleimage I personally doubt cpanel will be along that long but we do not use cpanel as our control panel. I see no reason why not.... it may be called something else at that time.. but then again I see no reason to change a well known brand name like that... at all :D Just my way of thinking :) RandyL712 08-07-2002, 12:36 PM Why wouldn't CPanel be out in 2 years? It's terrific software that's widely used. |
