I hope someone can help me resolve this issue.
1) My provider (wisehosting.net) says all of their servers are up and running and there are no problems with the DNS servers.
2) Some ISP's (Skynet, Kotnet) give a "Host Unknown" error if someone tries to browse to one of my sites.
Sites affected :
http://www.s2rent.be
http://www.wazzup.be
http://www.iworx.be
http://www.iworks.be
Could you all please try to connect to the sites mentioned above and leave a message if you were able to resolve ?
I really don't know where to go or what to do, I'm losing clients thanks to this issue. S2Rent hasn't been able to receive or send email for the last two weeks now ... I'm gettin' kinda desperate.

They all work from my ISP too...
I am having the same problem with my own domain on my local ISP...at work, it does not work; at home, it works. It is a ISP update thing.
But I wonder why there have been so many ISP forgetting updates?
They also work fine for me

It's most likely an ISP problem, I see the smae posts sometimes from the UK and France, and it is always toward a single host.
I still have not read a tecnical explanation - but it does happen. This might be what is happening with your sites/ISP, but the email problem you mentioned was not mentioned before.

Does your registrar allow you to put in the IP address for your name servers? If they do, I would try adding that. That will create "glue" records for the wisehosting name servers in the .be root servers. That might help with the problem ISPs.
Just keep in mind that if wisehosting should ever change the IPs of their name servers you'll need to update that.

We use the UP based records for nameservers here. I'll check to see if the records need to be updated. Didn't think of that.
Thanx for the idea !

Just double-checking: if you access them without the www in front, are they working? In my case only the CNAME won't resolve

Nope, they won't resolve at all ... now, I don't know if this happens because they can't find ns.wisehosting.net / ns2.wisehosting.net ... or if my domains are somewhere configured in a not so decent way ...

If most of us can see them, your domain part is fine. I am thinking this happened because either you or the host changed their name server or IP address recently, so a few local ISPs hasn't change the the records - Mostly likely those "dumb" ISPs are the ones that access to your websites the most, so they don't do a complete lookup. For those that never accessed your sites, the domains work well.
My domain is finally back to normal today (phew) It took about 5 days for the local ISP to update its records... Good luck
