Hi all, I'm looking for find a windows host that will allow me to install a custom COM object. The object works with PDFs. It seems the host I want to work with (JodoHost) can’t do it on their shared environement, but they can do it in the VPS and Dedicated hosts – but this is too pricey for me now.
Can anyone recommend a reliable webhost offering a reseller account that can provide me the standard features, but most importantly the ability to have a custom COM installed:
Windows
IIS
Standard componets - cdonts, aspupload, aspimage, aspjpeg, etc.
MS SQL, Access, My SQL,
Disk Space: around 4gb or so
Monthly Transfer: around 69gb or so
Unlimited domains
Price: under $20
Thanks!

I helped the tech to answer this, and the basis of it was not one able to be done in shared environments. The way COMs work once installed they work in the whole system, it could not be restricted to you only.
However our policy is no outside or custom COM objects overall.
thank you for considering us.

You might need to increase your budget.
There's a link "Find A Host" on top of the forum that you can use to request quotes from hosting providers.

I Agree withJodo host, and also with customer COM Objects, the host doesnt actually know what the file contains, it could be something to wipe the hard drive clean.
for custom COM installation, you will be better of looking at a VPS.

I don't think you'll find many (if any) hosts that will allow you to do a custom com on a shared environment, so look for a cheap VPS (places like VPSland have them from $25).

See if you can find a VPS solution which includes an integrated solution :)
