Does anyone here have problems accessing their UKreg/Fasthosts account?

Just an update on this for anyone else using Fasthosts. If you phone them up, let them know your old password, they will issue you with a new one over the phone. I was on hold for 2 hours though so expect a long wait.

Even now the queue for support is 56 long, and the "password reminder" is once again failing to send out emails - UKREG/FH seems to have fallen apart since 1&1 bought it !

I haven't actually noticed much difference - they were mediocre before, they are mediocre now (I use them for hosting - but not for registrations).

The reason for the long queues is, undoubtedly, the password change fiasco. Not only do more people have reason to contact them, but their email support seems to have ground to a halt so people who would otherwise have emailed (and who probably DID email) are now having to resort to picking up the phone.

Anyone who needs to phone them... make sure you use the geographical number, not the 0870 one. They no longer publish the any geographical numbers but all the ones they used to publish still work, and they are cached in lots of places on the Internet (and can also be found at saynoto0870.com) I was on hold for four hours the other day (NOT about a password fiasco related issue), but at least it didn't cost me anything... and I was able to write my Christmas cards, tidy the living room and clean the kitchen with a speaker phone clipped to my belt!
