View Full Version : Complete Hosting Automation - How?
BitByteHost 11-29-2007, 05:14 AM We are small start-up company with hardly 3 persons on pay-roll.
I want to:
1. Sell shared hosting, reseller hosting, dedicated servers (resell), vps servers, ssl, domain names, etc
2. I don't have large resource so I need automation with minimal hassle.
4. I want Billing, Help Desk, Network Monitoring, Marketing Tools, Automated Provisioning, etc but I don't want different software with separate logins.
5. Software should support me to sustain and expand business.
I could compile following candidates:
1. Helm (www.helm3.com) - Nice CP but does only shared/reseller hosting. I need to sell ssl, vps, dedicated servers too.
2. Plesk (www.swsoft.com) - Again very nice but does more or less what Helm does yet costs more.
3. HSPC (www.swsoft.com) - Looks stable and nice. I spoke with swsoft and apparently this solution costs an arm and a leg. Very high priced and I need to pay more for modules like reseller, vps, etc. This is the solution I need but is not in my budget (<$1000).
4. EjadSPM System (www.machsol.com) - Looks nice and akin to HSPC. Like HSPC, is not a control panel but allows to setup hosting on Plesk in automated manner and supports everything else I need. No pricing on their website but received pricing via email (<$1000 cost :agree:). Only fear is that they are new and I cannot find reviews about it.
5. Did I miss a choice here?
My Quesion:
1. Which automation is BEST, COMPREHENSIVE, MOST-ADVANCED, yet AFFORDABLE?
I hope this thread will pick-up and guide both newbie and experienced web hosted.
Thanks.
maiijarb 11-29-2007, 06:17 AM WHMCS use for client management, billing & support system.
http://www.whmcs.com/features.php
omega36 11-29-2007, 06:37 AM I'd also recommend WHMCS, give it a try, I believe you get 14 days free trial. I was one day in to my trial when I decided to get hold of a license!
thewebhostingdir 11-29-2007, 09:38 AM Go with following winning combination:
HELM (FOR WINDOWS SERVER - Reseller, Shared and Dedicated)
PLESK (FOR WINDOWS SERVER - VPS Solution)
CPANEL (FOR WINDOWS SREVER - Reseller, Shared, VPS and Dedicated)
ModernBILL Version 4 (UNLIMITED Domain Support)
This seems to be winning combination which is completely automized (except VPS Management).
01globalnet 11-29-2007, 10:39 AM What about H-Sphere? It does it all from 1 place.
I am not sure about Network monitor - you should use an external network to monitor your network though.
hosteur 11-29-2007, 11:38 AM cPanel + WHMCS !
cPanelDavidG 11-29-2007, 11:43 AM Go with following winning combination:
HELM (FOR WINDOWS SERVER - Reseller, Shared and Dedicated)
PLESK (FOR WINDOWS SERVER - VPS Solution)
CPANEL (FOR WINDOWS SREVER - Reseller, Shared, VPS and Dedicated)
ModernBILL Version 4 (UNLIMITED Domain Support)
This seems to be winning combination which is completely automized (except VPS Management).
Note that cPanel/WHM at this moment is only Linux/FreeBSD.
ModernAdvisors 11-29-2007, 11:02 PM ModernBill is an excellent solution, please just keep in mind that they do not offer the unlimited license publicly. You can always upgrade your license type at any time. For more pricing information you can visit their website, http://modernbill.com/billing-software/order.php.

Yup... correct... "CPANEL (for Windows)" was my mistake...
Dave Parish 11-30-2007, 01:14 AM maybe you guys could save a few bucks by going the leasing route. I know many o' company that started off with leased servers and are ranked in the top 500 of 7000 web hosting companies. Just a thought. That way you get what you need and you don't blow a ton on start-up

We are strictly Windows at the moment. :stickout:

This may be a winning combination but doesn't help with my original question/situation. With these 4 I have to deal with 4 different companies and at least 4 different login screens. I want to ideally deal with ONE company and ONE login screen. Software updates, patches, licensing issues with 4 different companies makes life hell beside very difficult for both us and customer.

ModernBill doesn't do anything other than billing.

We already have rented server.
I am looking further deep into HSPC & eJadSPM System (am I missing option here?). My idea is to use Plesk/Helm as hosting software and eJadSPM System as central management system for billing, help desk, monitoring, etc since it seems to have these features in single package and a price tag I can afford.
thewebhostingdir 11-30-2007, 02:57 AM eJadSPM doesn't seem to be much popular ... I have first time heard about this tool.
Modernbill automize account setups, suspension, deletion, invoicing, billing, reports etc...

Can you I do help desk, network monitoring with MB? Also, can I design ssl, dedicated server, vps packages and bill with it? I cannot find this in their demo.
Tom P 11-30-2007, 04:04 AM BitByteHost, you are looking for the perfect all in one system which.. as far as I know, doesn't exist.
It's best that vendors only focus on what they are making and not get side tracked by trying to create the ultimate all-in-one solution.
You will need a control panel, billing software and monitoring software seperately. I don't think any one of these does any other one of those (except local monitoring).
BitByteHost 11-30-2007, 04:49 AM Thanks, but I think I have found all-in-one solutions, they are HSPC by SWSoft & eJadSPM System by MachSol. Looks like there is no other all-in-one solution out there in the market.
BitByteHost 11-30-2007, 05:16 AM eJadSPM Demo http://demo.machsol.com/auth/login.aspx?uid=provider@eJadSPM.com&pwd=demo.
Your thoughts?

HELPDESK, DESIGNING SSL PACKAGES, DEDICATED SERVER AND VPS PACKAGES is possible with MB.

You found the price "affordable"?
BitByteHost 12-02-2007, 07:34 AM I have started to use eJadSPM System. It is cool and very nice piece of software. As for the price, it is well within reasonable range. I have started with 100 CAL license and my cost is $80\month for integrated help desk, network management & monitoring, service plan designer, billing system, datacenter module, etc.. and Customer Control Center too.
I am excited to have found this software!

Glad to hear that you found something to suit your needs, Somi. Is that leased or financed?
Best of luck! :agree:
Rick
BitByteHost 12-04-2007, 07:03 AM I have leased version and paying monthly.
Medhat 12-05-2007, 08:55 PM cPanel + ClientExec + AntiFraud Plugin = Sleep well at night and let your hosting grow !
