I thought it'd be interesting to see what people have seen in hosting, site-wise. Things like httpme.com and dotable.com, hosting websites which stand out.

Don't worry, I'm not in this for ideas (we're going for old fashioned site), but I thought it'd be interesting none the less :)

And no, I don't expect people to post their genius ideas they want to keep either

HostDemon specializes in helping customers build a successful online presence with an array of services that expose the web design community that are just beginning to understand the market for mobile device compatible websites. In the future more and more websites will be easily browsable by devices like your children's portable game system or Mp3 player. That quote is taken from our website when we say portable game systems, we mean psp, ps3, ipods, etc

Every host here is going to have a niche, thats what we do and thats where we see technology heading. There are all kinds of hosting solutions like

- blog
- forum
- green
- windows
- linux
- unix
- file
- shared
- dedicated
- vps

and so on and so on...

My advice would be fine something different that people need or make them think they need. Make sure you offer everything that everyone has plus more bang for they're buck!

It is important to not try and be everything though because then you come out being nothing.

Well, those are certainly different than the ubiquitous glossy hosting template. I'd say anybody doing something transparent like that is interesting.

Many years ago it used to bug me to see a forum at the top-level of the website -- but with added experience I've realized how it's just showing potential customers your vibrant community as the first thing. You're also letting new customers see the good and the bad, instead of hyped up marketing copy or a sanitized blog. It makes the site seem more alive.

It'll be hard to beat your examples without coming right back to transparency. ;)

Agree that nowadays olenty of web hosting companies. Some of them came for few days, some came for ages.
Each company which respect itself must have something distinctive.
In othe case it is nothing to do on web hosting market.
