View Full Version : Cpanel + Ensim?

Hi All,

I'm interested to know if anyone is currently using Cpanel in conjunction with Ensim. I've heard that it has been done before and would love to know how exactly it works. (I'm not 100% clear on how Ensim operates actually)

I was under the impression that you can install a copy of Cpanel in each of Ensim's "virtual dedicated server" systems. This would allow a host to give resellers complete control over their customers as well as their control panel - an ingenious idea!

Has anyone had enough experience with Ensim to elaborate on how/if this might work?

Regards,
Matt

But then your defeating the whole point of ensim. Ensim themselves have their own control panel for resellers and such. But hey if you want to give it a try you can. We have an ensim box coming soon, so I will give it a try. And get back to the WHT. Ensim is also coming out with a new product which will compete directly with cpanel, it will most likely also be licensed monthly.

Makes good sense.

Hi , imho...ensim comes with a decent cp i dunno if it can be used with cpanel, on the other hand i think Cpanel is the best cp out there.

if only the price of Cpanel is around 600-800 bucks (one time lic. fee) i'll buy one right away :P

Matt,

We currently use Ensim on our boxes. I think it is a great admin cp, however some of our less admin based clients, find their cp difficult and confusing which is where I think Cpanel would be a great addition because of it's ease of use and other great features!

Ensim is very strict about their cp use and modifications but it would be possible to add Cpanel as a stand alone module for those who would wish to use it. I have not heard of Cpanel being integrated into Ensim but I will ask around.

I would be willing and also interested in trying this out with some of our clients if this is what you are looking for. If so let me know and we can go over the details in private.

I do know that Ensim is coming out with a new CP based for clients us as mentioned above but I would still be interested in trying it with Cpanel. Let me know..

Best Regards,
X-treme

We tried to install CPanel over one of our two Ensim private servers that we had and were unsuccessful. For one thing, the Exim software (for e-mail) caused the OTHER private server (not the one that had Cpanel installed) to crash. This definitely presents a problem.

In addition, the version of Ensim that we have runs on Linux 6.1; the private servers run on Linux 6.0. So that causes more compatibility issues. If I'm not mistaken, Cpanel runs on 6.2.

I am aware that Ensim is coming out with a new version and has patches, so maybe that will fix some of the problems that we were having.
