View Full Version : RackLocation Problems

Well I got set up with RackLocation but now have a problem.

I switched to their DNS and they asked for my domain name as well as my IP # so they could add it to the system. Well my site only pulls up by submitting the IP# and not the domain name which is causing me problems. I sent them an e-mail early this morning and have made numerous attempts at getting them on the phone to no avail.

I did manage to get a hold of pogo linux a minute ago and they informed to me that they have severed ties with RackLocation due to customer complaints about service and not getting paid for equipment they sold them.

Well RackLocation and Netcolony.com are the same or owned by the same people so I did a whois on them and called the number listed to which a lady answered and when I said is this netcolony she told me that it was a $5 per minute psychic line. I started to repeat the number that I dialed to make sure I dialed it right and before I could get it out she said yes and its costing you $5 a minute right now.

So WTF is going on here? I'm extremely ticked off.

Anyone know anyway else of getting a hold of them??

It sound's like you have a problem...
Sorry to be so ironic, but if you will be in need for some kind of psychic help after all this, you know where to call :) he he

Take care.

Matrix, I am sorry to hear your problem. Racklocation looks like a one-man business (is it?) and I guess racklocation has been overwhelmed by all the orders on their $49/mo server.... I hope people are not sacrificing service for price now.

I can't help you with anything, but I do wish you the best.

cheers,

Yeah, there is some major changes happening. Racklocation was essentially started by the guys at pogolinux with an agreement with Netcolony for support etc... It seems that this agreement has not worked out. There is more to the story but I don't think I'm in the position to explain it all.

tabernack,

Did you switch over to Pogo Linux? The guy that I talked to there filled me in somewhat but probably not everything as I didn't ask him very many questions because I was more concerned at this point of getting my site back up.

Funny thing is I can't get a phone number for anyone that's still associated with them.

If you have any info you can share send me an e-mail at Mikhail32@aol.com

Thanks

That is really unfortunate. From my talks with them via human click, I really thought they were going to be a really nice up and coming host. Obviously too soon to tell either way, but it seemed like they really had a nice thing (servers built by pogo, colo'd at dialtone with a decent method of billing, etc.). Pity to hear about your experience.

:( My 30-day money back guarantee period is over.

The toll-free number listed on their web site and the fax number for the hosting agreement are for Pogo Linux... Are they still involved?

I hope the "major changes" will be positive ones!

Rehan,

Pogo Linux has dissolved their relationship with RackLocation at least that's what the guy said that I talked to there at Pogo.

Told me that they haven't been paid for some of the equipment, cant get racklocation on the phone, rack is being uncooperative and customer service was bad.

My 30 days is not up yet, but its a pain having to move servers. Pogo severed ties last friday but the number still goes to them.
