I have made effort to contact support regarding this situation, this is what I consider an urgent request which has not yet been answered for ~6hrs.

In preparation for starting my web hosting service, I've been running two servers with Cpanel. I have a few accounts on the active servers to test the service.

About two weeks I cancelled 1 Cpanel license on x.x.x.131, because I no longer needed the server,.

Earlier today it appears that borth Cpanel licenses have been cancelled, both servers produce invalid licenses, even though I only requested the 1 license to be cancelled. It's been ~6hrs since I've sent e-mails to sean@burst.net, support@burst.net, matt@burst.net regarding the situation.

No response as yet. Anyways at the moment I can't even check email due to ERR: Cpanel license has expired.

Not happy one bit. :(

./cpkeyclt
The Cpanel Key Server said returned 500 Request Denied - License is not valid.

I wonder what warrants an urgent enquiry?

Matt,

If you want another company to get your cpanel though, I'd suggest EffectOnline (DainelP)...

This is one reason we dont use CPanel, I would love to be able to run it as it seems to be the most popular and most freindly control panel out there. BUt after all the things I have heard of like this and the whole PD thing I just realized it is not worth not being able to sleep at night.. Charge a one time fee as much as you can get people to pay and leave it at that.. So unless Cpanel ever does the one time fee thing I am afraid we are going to be stuck with Ensim which is not bad at all but far from Cpanel.

What does "the whole PD thing" have to do with anything? Go with a reputable distributor, Timmy wasn't.

DarkORB did offer cpanel for a one time fee in June, you missed it. We have been using cpanel since April of last year, and the monthly payment is worth every penny mate. Don't put down a product simply because you are too cheap to rent it.

Tnx for the recommendations guys, btw its EffectOnline, no S, I tried to get the effects domain but the .com was already taken :bawling:

Now, as far as this Tim PD ****, don't you dare let that effect you in using cpanel. Tim was never a licensed distributor in the first place; he was a reseller, and a kid at that. I don't see clients not sign up for webhosting because of a few bad incidents now do I?

Its a sad fact that people will always abuse something and they will always cause trouble and try to rip people off.... all you can do is make sure you go with a reputable person or business that is a legally registered business. Do background checks etc. Don't use "the whole PD thing" as an excuse not to try or use cpanel. There are many reputable distributors out there for you to choose from.

As far as what happened to Matt, who knows.... could be anything from a billing error to simple human error.... I've not had a problem with anything due to the fact that I keep good records of who has what etc, but if records are not properly kept I could see where problems like this might ocur... Anyhow sorry for the rant I'm just still steamed @ Tim's actions with cpanel is all.

Let's not go into that again. Has nothing to do with the thread...

Well Matt thats why my recommendation is to always go direct to the software company. When u add middle companies to the equation things can go wrong.
