We are looking for a reseller that provide very good protection against email spam, preferably using C-panel and WHM. The basic idea is to spend as little time as possible controlling spam using manual filters. Looking forward to the valuable suggestions of the WHT members.

Anandsoft,

Almost all cPanel providers offer spamassassin as a standard on the servers.

Hope this helps.

I think that all companies do provide spam protection solutions with their reseller packages, but it is defferent from company to company.

As far as i know steadfast.net gives (free) access to a dedicated mailfoundry appliance to the webhosting customers.

Maybe it's true for resellers accounts too.

We are using Spamassassin and glad from it. Most hosting companies provide it free. If you read the reviews on WHT when you can find them.

SpamAssassin is good, but it needs to be tuned for acceptable level of spam messages. Does any reseller provide managed spam protection? (Using any custom or spam protection software that adapts to the changes)

Further, pair.com has an excellent email spam filtering. But, they don't provide hosting for reseller accounts. We are looking for somebody like pair.com that provide reseller hosting using Cpanel.

How about having your own dedicated server and tuning spam filtering as you wish?
Spam has never been my concern.
Cpanel can handle it very well.

The best one is mailfoundry :)

The best one is mailfoundry :)
Yup. Mailfoundry is the best bet. Easy to configure and efficient (at least for me).

I've yet to see any Reseller Plan including MailFoundry or Postini though.

It would be a good idea though.

It appears that jaguarpc.com hosting plans offer excellent protection against spam. I am referring to one of their discussion forum topics: http://www.jaguarpc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17830
Incidentally, they provide reseller hosting. Any inputs on the quality of support that jpc provides for reseller accounts? thanks.

premiumhost: The requirement does not warrant a dedicated server. I am sure there would be a few reseller (Cpanel) providers that offer very good protection against spam. The difficulty is in finding those hosts!

I don't know much about them but Steadfast DOES give reseller accounts access to the Mailfoundry appliance which is pretty darn cool. They are an H-Sphere provider (which I know even less about) so I don't know how that compares to WHM/CPanel.

Nnyan - thanks for your post.

Still looking forward to the experienced WHT members to share their experience regarding protection against email spam. It is also surprising to find that email spam protection is a minor issue (at least not a mojor issue) in WHT forums!

well I wouldn't say its a minor issue. SA does a pretty good job once it gets tuned. It's the most common option offered and does a fairly good job. Unfortunately I've found that in order to not get legit mail tagged as spam you have to lower the settings so that some spam gets through.

Now on some accounts that do a ton of online activity where they used a "good" e-mail account SA just doesn't cut it. Those accounts still get a ton of e-mail spam. SA is also a bit sensitive and seems to occasionally get out of wack and needs to be reset.

Now having said that I like to "try out" providers and one of the things I measure is spam. Not sure exactly why but using the same SA settings (number of spams/e-mails, etc...) some providers do much better then others.

I for one have been keeping my eye out for providers that give you a more robust solution to SPAM then just SA, so let me know how your experience goes.

Good luck!

Further, I am a bit disappointed that WHT is not able to provide with enough information for those who intend to go with hosts that provide serious protection against spam.
For the webmaster of WHT:
May I suggest that a separate topic ( at the top level) be started for discussing hosts that provide serious protection against email spam? Just imagine millions of people spending millions of hours deleting spam messages. WHT would be doing an incredible job if it encourages the web hosts that advertise or promote their services or products here to look seriously in to email spam. I am sure that client always want to minimize the time spent on managing emails.
