Hello all!

I joined here awhile ago, but I've been lurking in the shadows for awhile with not much to post. I originally joined when I came across a web site that was claiming to sell unlimited hosting and bandwidth for just $1. It sounded great, but I knew it was just to good to be true. So, after hunting around I found WHT and learned that the hosting site was a scam. Their parent site, that was selling reseller accounts with unlimited space and bandwidth for $25 a year was also bogus [now I remember, it was onedollarhost.net - it still looks so tempting!]. It was kind of a let down finding out that such great prices were phoney, but I'm glad I did or I'm sure I would have regretted even the paltry sum I put down for that...

Anyway, long story short, I'm in the market for some web hosting service - possibly hosting and maybe doing a little reselling after - and hope to find some good web hosting services, and check into ones I'm currently looking at. I'm an admin on a large vB forum (not sure I want to mention the name since I don't want to break the rules for advertising or anything) and run a blog. I've got a few projects in the works currently, and so I'll be hanging around to learn more and meet some new people in this business to make some friends and hopefully business deals/partners, as well as share some of my knowledge as well. I've made a few posts over on the FreeWHT board, but haven't come across too much useful info there, unfortunately.

So, thanks for reading and I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me very soon :D

Hello Pogue,

Glad to hear you saved some money. The internet seems to have opened way too many avenues for scammers. Anyway, when something is too good to be true, its best to do some further research.

Anyway, what kind of business deals or partnerships are you looking for?

Are you sure? When I check on their site now, I saw their unlimted plan is for $4, the one dollar comes with 1GB Space and 60GB BW. When did you checked on them?

p/s: You can post your links to the forum in your signature if you want to. ;)

Unfortunately, it's a lot easier these days for a scammer to setup a web site with tempting offers than to setup a stall in a market somewhere selling knock-off goods, much less risk in it for them as well.

As long as you have that little red flag that shoots up and says "Too good to be true" you will normally be safe. Come check the hosts on WHT and it will reveal pretty quickly if they or scammers or even if they have bad services.

Glad to hear you didn't get caught out by a scam, and good luck on your hunt!
