Hi All,

This is my first post, but i have been monitoring this forum for some time.;)

Anyhow,my site has grown quite large and is currentlty using between 40-50GB per month.
Im currently hosted in tera-byte,and am generally quite happy with them, however i think its about time i moved to dedicated.
The best one i have been able to find so far is 4webspace,and since they are owned by tera-byte i guess the move *should* be painless...
On with the questions:
1)Which RAQ should i choose? the raq3 or raq4? is there any reason for me to pick the more expinsive one?(my site is mainly pictures and html pages)
2)I have abouslty NO knowledge whatsoever about how to run a server, how hard will this be?will i need to do things i have done before on tera-byte shared hosting?cause i really dont want my site to have downtimes because i pressed some wrong buttons...

Thats it for now, thanks in advance!

Wecome to the forums!

Well, I don't see much of a reason to get the 4 then. Most things can be done via the server admin CP, but that isn't to say you'll never have to/want to dive in a bit deeper. You'll have to get a bit more involved in running the server, since it isn't the same as having a virtual account. I wouldn't say it is difficult, but you should spend some time learning about basic commands, and general cobalt bugs, fixes, resources, etc.

Thanks for your reply!

Anyhow,so there is no real to need to buy the RAQ4 unless im using PHP ,MYSQL,etc...?

Also,should i upgrade to 128MB or 256MB ram?how can i determine how much i need?

RAQ3 is fine even with PHP/MySQL... And 128MB is plenty for most people - probably best to start off there and upgrade later if you need it...

Please let us know the configuration you decide upon and the cost. I went to 4webspace to check the memory upgrade from the 32MByte that the RAQ3 comes with but the location of pricing was not obvious. I won't bother them if I can slip-stream.

Well,i have done the order for the raq a couple of hours ago(raq3 with 128MB),and i have been "playing" with it abit since then.i am currently uploading the patches to it.(which is a big pain since my cables dont work, and im using 56k :()

Other then allowing CGI and SSI,i havent done much with it,is there something else i need to do in order to get the site going?(some settings i need to set,etc...?)

Thanks again!
