Guys, this place is great!!!!

Have a question though, I notice that this site doesn't don't have banner ads. Is this place meant as a goodwill gesture to all?

Chicken or Matt will probably give an official explanation but the way I hear it, there's no banner ads because they tend to favour only those who can afford them. This forum is meant to be a level playing field for people to come and discuss things webhost related.

In fact a while ago it was suggested banners ads be put in just to help out with the costs of running such a big board, but in the end it was decided against by admin (and most people in general).

It's one of the few non bias places for people to meet and greet when looking for a host, and I for one hope it stays that way for a long time to come :)

Greg pretty much summed it up. We get offers all the time from hosts who want to advertise, but the only ad that is displayed is a small text link in the bottom right corner of the host(s) who are/have been generous in offering a home for the forum.

Advertsing $$$ will be used to support Matt's other sites which are being reintroduced soon. If you are interested in placing an ad on those sites, contact him and he'll stick your email away until rates are established and the sites are closer to completion.
