Hi all,

I would like some suggestions for a windows host that can fulfil all of the following criteria :)

Must have live chat 24/7 to the techs - I don't live in the US

I have 2 domains and under one of those domains about 6 sub domains. One of the domains is just pulling info from the main site, but the other sub domains are completely different subjects and not duplicates. I need sub domains to be set up outside of the main domain and not in a sub folder

Database Info
Access DB, DSN for a couple of them, and for the DSN-less connections, the jet drivers as well as the old MDB driver

mySQL would be nice to play with ;)

file types / Pages are:
asp
Asp.NET
cgi
html
.js
.css
also I have a couple of videos for people to download
(and php when I am playing)

Asp upload - the free one

Where I log into through FTP I need to be able to see the dirs set up silimar to the following
-Datafiles
-Domain1
-Domain2
-Subdomain1.1
-Subdomain1.2
*No files only folders here*

currently my main site has roughly the following kind of stats
visitors per month 60,000
page views 300,000
Not too sure the data moving - maybe 100 - 200gb

Would I be better off on a managed server? I ask as my current provider is saying that the "Sytem Resources Exceeded" is because my site is too big and I need to go to a dedicated server. If that is the case, I need a manged one as I am roaming the world and do not have net access when I am in jungles and deserts to check if my site is up!

(and for my wish list but not necessary, if the host had a way to move a site so I don't have to manually pull it down (through dialup) then upload it (through dialup) or suggestions on how to do this! (where I am at the mo is well outside any broadband and only have dialup - not even cell phones!)

Hope I have given enough info and would appreciate any advise and guidelines :) If I need to add anything else, just let me know and I will try!

Thank you for your time :)

IMHO, managed server is the best option for you.. you have many customized requirements like the folder structure which might not be fulfilled with a shared host.

All the best,

Hi,

A good Windows host should be able to offer you a custom plan for your requierments.

You will need a powerful server with dual core cpu at least.
If you have administration skills, rent a dedicated server and set up the way you want :)

Thank you all for your input. Apologies for not replying sooner, but have been out in the desert roaming around without internet connection!

There are no clients, all of that is used by me! At the mo my sites are hosted out of the states, I am in Australia but live in New Zealand!

While I could set it up the way that I want, because I am roaming the world I can spend time out of touch with the internet - yes, it is true - they don't have any phone lines let alone internet in the Borneo jungles where I have spent about 2 months - which is why I am looking for a managed server :)

I have had a look at Ultima Hosts do you think the Resller package would fulfil all my needs? (on the US site) - will wait intil they have someone on their live chat.

Also looking at the premiumseller.com the windows hosting one - will have a chat to them through their live chat

I also have a very old version of Dot Net Nuke installed - it runs on an access db ...

Once again, thank you for your input :)

Yeah we don't offer PERL / CGI anymore. It sounds like we might have been a little out of your budget requirements anyway. Good luck with your search.
