I have a new web site posted on 2mhost. Yesterday, their server went off the rocker...any how, now the the site is up aagin, but I cannot edite it anymore. When I try to edite it through Front Page , it does not ask for user name and password, and does not log in to my page. I am toyally new to it and would like some help please!

E-mail them and ask them to reset your FrontPage extensions.

If it is on a Windows 2000 box, the cause is they have the IUSR account with privliages to the directory. This is a common problem that we learned a long time ago about not asking for a user/pass with FP ext.

Hmm.. ask them to double check?

Tell them it wont let you login/ask for login info! Tell them to fix their frontpage software :)

I just went to my account in CPANEL and here is what it says:

Frontpage extensions are currently: not installed

Warning: Installing or Uninstalling Frontpage extensions will result in the loss of all .htaccess files in your web area. Any directories you have protected with WebProtect will become unprotected until you reprotect them.

None of my business but why can't you just install them from your control panel?

Removing .htaccess files
Note: Local version of Apache must use the FrontPage Apache patch.Error: Cannot open "srm.conf": no such file or folder.

Starting chown, port: 80, web: "/".

Error: Cannot open "srm.conf": no such file or folder.
Searching for domains without mail extensions...

It looks like something your host has to fix. E-mail their support and tell them about the errors as you did here. Do they have tickers or a forum? If so, use them.

On another note... frontpage is microsoft, apache is more linux, and never the two shall meet... try and do without frontpage.

As reptilian-fe said, it's really out of your hands, I believe. You'll have to wait for your host to sort it all out. Good luck!
