View Full Version : Where to recruit people from?
Alan - Vox 08-04-2002, 12:41 PM Im looking to employ 3 people at the end of this month. Does any one know any good sites to recruit support staff/server admins from?
Yes i allready know about the Job offers and requests part of WHT.
You can use bobcares.com, or you can e-mail me your requirements and I can search our resume database of about 11000 Romanian jobseekers.
Oops, forgot to ask.... Are you even considering hireing overseas persons?
Alan - Vox 08-04-2002, 01:26 PM Yeah, they would have to speak perfect english though. Well not perfect but you know what i mean.
EzHost 08-04-2002, 01:37 PM Are you looking for someone to work "on site"....or would you be interested in a systems administrator who could do the work remotely. If interested in a systems admin who can do the work remotely please contact me and I'll pass on a name to you.
Alan - Vox 08-04-2002, 01:52 PM Im not looking for people to post offers in this thread, im looking forrecruitment sites or anything else that might be usefull. Otherwise pm instead.
Rochen 08-04-2002, 03:06 PM Try some of these Alan, I have never used any of them, just seen them advertised on TV, banners etc.
http://www.monster.co.uk/ & http://www.monster.com/
http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Index.htm?siteid=jobsearchcom
http://www.totaljobs.com/jobseekers/totaljobs.asp
http://www.employmentguide.com/
Also run a search on Google for job resource sites, hope that can get you started :)
CitadelHost 08-04-2002, 06:53 PM Look on www.monster.com for people who are qualified to do support and server administration.
Chris 24Host 08-04-2002, 07:31 PM www.monster.ca for Canadians....
Alan - Vox 08-04-2002, 07:52 PM I can see there how to search for people looking for jobs.
Aussie Bob 08-04-2002, 09:52 PM Alan: I'd say your best bet would be to place an ad in the Job's forum (http://webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=33). I'd bet that there's some good talent lurking looking for work etc on this forum. I take it your positions would be remote positions [they work from home] etc...
DomiNET.net 08-04-2002, 10:50 PM I would not trust on a guy hired from WHT (just my opinion)
Alan - Vox 08-04-2002, 11:10 PM Yeah, all us wht'ers are really dodgy.
Rochen 08-04-2002, 11:14 PM I possibly wouldn't trust someone from WHT who was a complete newbie, however an established member with a good track record is a different story, I don't see any problem with employing someone along those lines :)
But we better not because as Alan says, we're all dodgee :D
JustinH 08-05-2002, 12:49 AM I wouldn't be worried about how established they are on WHT... I'd worry about previous experience. Posting an ad in the Job forum wouldn't hurt, but I'd certainly request referrals, and with some luck, you can pick up someone that used to work with a company you know/respect :).
AH-Tina 08-05-2002, 01:24 AM My best employee, who has been with us for almost a year, was found here. He's loyal, hardworking, responsible.....and you can't have him! :D
I believe we found 2 other guys here that worked out fine as well. I must say, however, we did go through a few "duds" found here...so make sure you check references.

The Laughing Cow 08-05-2002, 05:25 AM How much are you looking to pay Alan? Do you want full-time support staff? Remote? local?
Just out of interest, if the amount you want to pay is low perhaps look here at WHT but if you can afford to pay something i.e > £10k then a recruitment agency would be good.
I use reed.co.uk to look for jobs and it's pretty much the best job search engine.... shame the lack of appropriate jobs :(
Good luck.
Alan - Vox 08-05-2002, 10:50 AM What im looking for is a bit unusual and probably very difficult to find. At the moment i can handle all the support myself in only a few hours every day. I am looking to have 24/7 support though and be able to leave someone in charge so i can take a weekend away etc..
The problem is that my staff would only need to work about 10 minutes of every hour. The job would be ideal for people who are using the computer anyway for what ever reason.
The Laughing Cow 08-05-2002, 10:52 AM Interesting, I would think your best bet is to find a friend who knows the area or someone here, from the looks of things (I may be assuming wrongly) you want to pay very little or perhaps exchange support for hosting - there are plenty of people about who would do that I would think in the jobs forum.
Lonny 08-05-2002, 02:44 PM For ASP programmers the best place would be

Good luck
