EDIT - 12th August : All servers are SOLD, signup page deactivated.
phantasywork 08-04-2002, 12:23 PM Awesome Deal , I picked me up a couple yesterday myself :)
Is it safe to guess that you are now reselling for transoptics?
TimPD 08-04-2002, 12:52 PM They're not reselling :).
I ordered mine too. Really great offer. Just the 512M server was not included in special yesterday. Otherwise it was enough for me. Eserver biz support has been very good from what I have seen on WHT.
Ping time for both addresses is very good. Even for cognet it is better than other cognet connections I have seen. It's a really fast network.
Just is it possible to have APC access for reboot?
Mac
TimPD 08-04-2002, 01:05 PM Sweet Deal..
cabalstudios 08-04-2002, 01:26 PM EDITED : The issue is now clear and understood
TimPD 08-04-2002, 01:43 PM Indeed Good Offers. Back On Topic :) Sorry.
chavvon 08-04-2002, 01:50 PM I wanted to clarify for everyone that eservers is not reselling Hostmania servers. We have entered into a strategic relationship that allows us to leverage eservers assets while allowing eservers to leverage our advanced infrastructure as well. The partnership is a win-win for customers of both companies.
Regards,
Chavvon Smith
CEO
Hostmania
cabalstudios 08-04-2002, 02:00 PM Sorry guys i was having my tea, *yumm* *yumm*
Chavvon thanks for clearing that up.
WebHozt : Not at all, i am sure its more clear now.
wmac : Thanks for the comments, you can now add APC ports as of today for $10 monthly and $10 setup.
TimPD : Thanks, i hope you got your answer :)
Any more questions please dont hesitate to contact us.
-Shazad
Furton 08-04-2002, 04:05 PM I don't need the server now but I will do in 2 months, will the offer still be going?
Does the Cogent bandwidth have any backup if it goes down?
cabalstudios 08-04-2002, 04:56 PM Nope, this offer was originally for the first 100 dedicated servers, due to excellent response we have had from both WHT and our mailing list we have extended it to 200 servers.
We will have PROMO from time to time, and you can be sure they will get better and better.
Correct, if you go for the Cogent option there is no backup, however in the last 10months it has been in operation there has been no downtime.
If you have any more questions please dont hesitate to contact us.
-Shazad
universal2001 08-04-2002, 07:14 PM OMG, this is a GREAT deal... good one Shazad.. you going to make me run outta money soon! lol
Grewat Deals. just got some.
Thanks
Justice 08-04-2002, 10:20 PM is it possible to opt for Internap and switch to Cogent later on?
mikeknoxv 08-04-2002, 10:57 PM Or visa versa? I would like to know this as well.
cabalstudios 08-05-2002, 08:03 AM On the PROMO deal this would not be possible, however if you would like this done on a standard offer then it *may* be possible for a small setup fee, as the servers need to be transferred to another facility.
Though we would like to refrain from doing this as much as possible.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.
I have just ordered server.
But I have not get any confirmation...

ninji 08-05-2002, 02:41 PM E-Servers Isnt and Wasn't Reseller...
I hate how alot of you people slander another company thats not even your own competition, and you say things that arn't true.
Unless all of you who co-locate your own servers and provide webhosting consider yourself resellers......Then I defiantly wouldn't begin to call e-servers one.....
E-Servers Rocks you all, and provides much better deals than anyone else and there Hardware is Quality as compared to some big dedicated hosts we all know.......
Just my 2 bits...

Dan,
I simply asked a question for my clarification, and I believe it was done in a respectable and polite manner. My apologies if I gave the wrong impression to anyone!
(Im assuming your above post is addressed to me, since I happen to be the one who raised the issue in this thread!)
StarGate 08-05-2002, 03:22 PM Good offer! :agree:

The details posted in this offer were exactly like the ones from Hostmania (with the exception of server specs/prices) thus asking if they were re-selling servers was a legitimate question.
clocker1996 08-05-2002, 06:42 PM GREAT offer
hats off to eservers
:)
i just ordered one. these guys are really professional. they handled everything nicely.
DigitalIsles 08-06-2002, 07:18 PM I would have to agree. I ordered mine yesturday and had several questions before I ordered and the replies were nearly instant.

I tried to run a Netmechanic test to the IP 216.52.184.225 (Internap) and surprised to see the Poor result in download time:
http://scp.netmechanic.com/reports/free/217/1444/01-023848.htm
Do you have any explanation for this? Can you provide a test file for download?
cabalstudios 08-07-2002, 08:48 AM Edy,
Firstly the explanation, as I mentioned in your email.
The IP we gave was for our FOUNDRY Switch and hence the reason for the poor result on the "Download Test", however checking the first 3 results you will notice that infact the network is excellent, just that running a test like Net Mechanic on a switch will never give good results (my mistake)
I have run the test on our server and will post the link in 8 hours time.
-Shazad
cabalstudios 08-07-2002, 04:26 PM As promised the Net Mechanic results : http://scp.netmechanic.com/reports/free/218/0825/28-019707.htm
Have a nice evening and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.

Justice,
apparently Shazad didn't see your question so until he answers, I think you should know that it is more than likely that IP addresses would have to be re-assigned upon a change a provider.

Thank you, Mac
Varun Shoor 08-13-2002, 02:56 PM yeah we are all waiting! dont let us down.
cbwass 08-13-2002, 03:44 PM Any left?
I'm not in a hurry.
universal2001 08-13-2002, 05:39 PM Yes, any left? I would like to get one. :D
Varun Shoor 08-13-2002, 05:43 PM Just got this:
Recent to our email regarding the delayed setup we have some new updated news to share with our customers awaiting server’s setups.
Firstly the good news, after negotiation with the individual who registered out domain they have agreed to hand it back over and the DNS was changed in the last hour and should be fully propagated in the next 24-48 hours.
However the bad news, there will be a 3-4 days added delay as we get the provisioning all setup and have your servers ready.
BUT we have some more good news; all customers will receive an FREE 512MB RAM upgrade to all dedicated server(s) ordered as compensations for the delays.
I dont mind an added 3-4 days delay in lieu for free 512mb ram..
But lets see if there are any additional delays.
prime 08-16-2002, 02:53 PM Any news, anyone?
Varun Shoor 08-16-2002, 03:49 PM No updates so far. Still Waiting.

What was your invoice # (approx) ? I'm in the high 30s. If you're higher, maybe I can expect mine soon too ;)

prime 08-21-2002, 01:16 PM Well, apparently 17 people got theirs... And next batch is on thursday.
Prime, I have been positive about that but do you really believe that?
I have checked my email every 30 minutes today (Wednesday). They had told me that they will give the server on Monday but nothing yet.
I am not sure if they have really delivered those 17. Just 1 or 2 persons told that they have received their server.
My invoice # is below 5 and I should have received my server now.
Mac
zdwebhosting 08-21-2002, 05:44 PM how long have you all been waiting?
sonic 08-21-2002, 08:33 PM I didnt receive mine either.....
've been wating for a while for it...
I have ordered mine at 8/3/2002 and it becomes near 3 weeks.
Hello
I think 3 weeks of waiting is a firm proof that they not only do not pay attention to customers but also do not have the capibility of providing a good service to them.
They have promissed 5 different deadlines but every time I did not received a server.
I will not suggest eserver and hostmania to my friends.
Just look at their email I posted above. After wasting my time for 3 weeks they just suggest a refund.
I am sure they will have similar problems in near future so I prefer to stop going with them. They are the most unfaithful company I have dealt with.
I just cancelled my order and will look for another provider.
Mac
