What can you do to fix ModernBill's false positives on credit card payments? I had problems with two companies rejecting my card after they installed ModernBill. One company had been doing recurring charges for several years on the same card. After the ModernBill installation it routinely rejected my card until the owner of the company stepped in. Tech support at that company had been unable to resolve the problem for several months and I was making manual payments via PayPal using the same card ModernBill's software was rejecting as fraudulent. Funny thing too, my card carrier got paid every month as they always have despite ModernBill's software designating the purchase as fraudulent. Seems Modernbill is designed to reject any credit card used away from the billing address. In one instance after I was assured by an official at the hosting company Modernbill would not be a problem if I used my card overseas I had to have a relative call from my billing address. She had to argue with a support person at that company who told her the reason I never heard back after making a online purchase of services from abroad was that I made a fraudulent purchase with a card that was not mine and they don't respond to fraudulent purchasers. It took the intervention of a supervisor to fix the problem.

Modernbill apparently thinks Americans and others living and working overseas are not worthy customers for any hosting company so they created a system that to make sure these people are given the status of fraudulent purchaser.

There are several million people who live and work overseas that maintain a US address and credit card accounts. Never mind that automatically rejecting those people loses a potential customer base of several million people. After all anyone who lives and works overseas must be a criminal of some sort. At least that appears to be Modernbill intellectual titan's way of thinking. Someone at Modernbill needs to find a more appropriate algorithm but I doubt they even consider the false positives a problem though most managers whose compensation is performance based would probably not like to lose one or two percent of their customers. I was told by one company that Modernbill rejects one to two percent of purchases. I was never even notified in one instance my purchase was flagged as fraudulent. I was simply ignored by the company until I had a relative make a phone call from my US address. I received a notice the company was in the process of approving my account and then nothing more. I am sure I am not alone with that experience. Modernbill's Alabama intellectual giants must be proud.
