I have a site that is currently written in static HTML using a traditional HTML editor (from the late 90s). The site consists of information, submitted/published writing, and book reviews.

We've attempted to move the site to ExpressionEngine (all the content is there, but no way to display it), but I've struggled with the learning curve. Can anyone think of a better or easier solution?

http://21degrees.com.au/products/symphony/ is a good one, but there may be an even bigger learning curve, or possibly none.
Try textpattern for easy customization, but it is a blog software (might still work for you).

Actually, the creators of Textpattern said that it's not a blog software. It can be used for blogs, news sites, ect.
