Recently, one of my previous clients contacted me to implement something useful for web-hosting industry. They are willing to provide the phone API for their services. I can control the call using that and I am fairly familiar with the API now. I am trying to do some market validation before I get into this.
Please let me know if any of this make sense to you.
a) Automated Phone Call during check out process. Fraud cannot be eliminated but this just reduces the fraud. An automated way of confirming the web user over the phone using challenge phrase (number).
b) Integration with the ticketing system so that the incoming caller automatically is read out the last updated information after prompting for a ticket id. This requires a little TTS (Text to speech) and I have used one of the engines which give reasonable accuracy. I feel that there is a great potential for this integration. Mileage may vary :) I have found few ticketing systems but I would like to know which one of them is the best and can be easily integrated.
c) An automated call to users who have forgotten to pay their bill as a reminder call every 2-3 days.
d) Automated way to order servers over the phone. Is there a common ordering module (something similar to oscommerce cart) for the wen hosting industry which can be used as a standard for integration?
