Fireworks should be banned yep, a waist of money and there dangerous and it's really only kids who like them and they shouldn't get all this money spent on them to make them happy when they cause the public terror with there fowl behaviour.
After the september thing people could mistake them for bombs cause they certainly sound like them..
In the uk anyway all the kids make a bonfire and that's when these young kids smoke and smoke paper, it's true they smoke paper and usualy bits of newspaper paper..

Nasty fireworks.

From your last few posts I can tell you've already imposed a self-ban on punctuation.

Just a side note: Which causes more injuries, death, and general public nuisance; fireworks or alcohol?

:uzi: people who hate it when others have fun.

Well look people know if there's a big bangs on fireworks night and this country 4 months before firewoks night but in the middle of that time fireworks often go off in the city which means your maybe not going to see the lightsy things and plus no one looks out there window all the time.
"Which causes more injuries, death, and general public nuisance; fireworks or alcohol?"

Well i'm on for banning these things as well but that death one well that's trivial but say someones driving there car and they have a heart attack while driving a car and they crash into other cars and teh cars crash into other cars and the one fo have a heart attack dies because of a firework going off.

I think a ban on the improper use of the English language - especially for people whose first language is English - would be more fun and productive. If not a total ban, then at least stiff fines, and only for egregious offenses.

Considering what goes on near your neck of the woods, how about a ban on soccer? That sport seems to cause far more hooliganism, injury and death in the UK than does fireworks.

While we are banning things, how about banning underarm deodorants? Ban "Ultra Ban" has a nice ring to it, do you not agree?

Damn, try as I might to ramble incoherently I just can't pick up the practiced knack that you display, Ned.

I ban people that attempt to talk English in an English speaking country, i am well up for that, it would save me having to say everything i say twice whenever i go into a shop.

Well look if you want me to tell you what should be banned just ask me.

Sorry i should say "i agree that people who can't talk proper English should be banned" instead of what i said which was "i" which people not from Scotland will get wrong obviously..

If you don't come from Ireland, Scotland, England go do what these football fans do and cut your tongue to try and make you sound like your English.

People from English speaking countries that do not speak (not "talk" and while we are at it type might even be a better word) English should be banned.
So there! :D

Ned, have a nice cup of tea (if you haven't banned it) and try to relax a little.

There is no doubt in my mind, haggis should be banned.

(And any meal whose principal component is from any part of the entrails of animals! Or their cranium! Liver, sweetbreads, kidneys, etc ad nauseum - really - Yuk!)

Wait now. Only people from the uk talk proper English.
In 1680 a man called bernard hockfire from America decided he didn't want to be normal so he cut his tongue and he also had lots of children so he passed the cut tongue onto his children and they had children and they had children and so on and on..
Anyone from the Uk kissed an American girl? or boy?, there tongue differs doesn't it?.

Ned, I take it you are not from the UK. there tongue

Where? Here? Yonder?

Are you actually from this planet? Try as I might, I can cut off all sorts of parts of my body, but my progeny are going to be born *with* the parts. Children do not inherit "cut tounges".

Missing marbles, perhaps.

ned patter

No but seriously guys elderly people do get a fright and shops sell fireworks to children and there not supposto..
I think Australias banned them to the public haven't they?, as long as people know there in the hands of people you can trust then no ones scared..
Don't forget there are disabled people that don't like them and autistic people are sometimes included in that and with autism being widespread. Just to add a bit of awareness there.
There's Animals as well.
Most living things don't like fireworks and i don't think people in Scotland enjoy them as much as they did in like 1996 and like i said it's a waist of money.

Ban fireworks?...

Hmm... Ever heard of personal responsibility??

If I got out and by a crate of fireworks, sit on it and light em'?

And I get my ass blown to another state?...

Whats wrong w/ that? Evolution works.. I can't breed my stupidity to other generations.. If you banned them think of the crazy stupid things my extended gene pool would do?

On the other hand.. Why can't I, a responsible adult, enjoy a holiday by having fun exploding a few little firecrackers?

If it blow my self up what sense do you have preventing me from doing so?.. I don't understand how you can support your claim that your opinion protects the rest of us from harm?..

On the same hand I could argue that you having a light drink after getting home for work does a great deal of harm... Let's ban that?... It was tried and the result produced the Kennedy's... I don't want that again...

If you disagree w/ what I'm saying. Please excuse me... I bought a kegerator and have been drinking since 4pm.. :D...

At least they should ban them in the neighborhood after 10 p.m :o

Their use should be restricted to open places. We had an incident in a celebration in Kuwait, were two guys lit a fireworks rocket toward a bunch of cars and it went directly through the window to a girls eyes sitting in a car. She died. What a celebration!

Fireworks are banned in Kuwait. You can bring some from the outside if you want, and use them in open places (we used them in a camp in the desert), nobody will be after you for that.

P.S.: Mind my Injlish, I'm not a native speaker :D

Shouldn't be considering America is a 'melting pot' so it wouldn't be different. (Not sure how to phrase it so it makes sense) Not to mention the only way the tongue could be different is if everyone did it. If one person cut their tongue and had children, thier children would have a regular tongue. The 'cut tongue' wouldn't be hereditary. Just like circumcision. (Had to throw in a relation to the cut tongue)

As for the fireworks thing. Hey it's banned in Ohio, but who cares. Have a little fun. If ya blow off a hand it's your fault. Don't outlaw them cause then I'll just buy them off the net from some place where they aren't outlawed.

Frankly, I'm all for Darwin's theory and letting people eliminate themselves from the gene pool :D

If you do a search for Ned's previous threads, you'll realize that he's most likely high. Very high.

Or maybe some sort of space alien...

Anyway, don't let his weirdness scare you :stickout

Well in this country kids are just too stupid, they chuck fireworks in bonfires and just wait to see what way it will come flying back out and it could blow someones head off.

I have never ever had anything like alcohol in my life apart from 1 time which was when i found out how horrible it tastes and the last time i smoked anything bad was a few months ago and it will be the last because that's horrible too.

I'm a very sensible boy.

The court has relized that those who commit suicide is guilty of murder, if a person succeeds in killing thy self, there should be a mandatory death penalty applied to the victim.

Also in the news, they spent 4 years preparing a new law, the law states that "if there is a cow in your living room with ice skates on during christmas eve", there will be a $50.00 fine.

after the commercial break,we will have the national blind mans golf scores in....

John Pawnee - did a birdie on the 2nd hole which was 3654 for a par. Several fans were injured when a seeing eye dog was drinking on the job and proceeded to lead his master on to an highway.Several cars veered onto the golf course and killed several spectators.

Here you go frank with the news about little johnny who wants to stop people from using fireworks....

Hmmm... That sounds alot like bad parenting :D

My father showed me how to use guns, and other things of the sort...

I'm a very safe person when using something dangerous, because I'm responsable for my actions, and I was taught how to do things in a corret manner...

Prohacker, bad parenting is a very democratic problem. Apparently no matter where you go, you see parents who just gave up on educating their kids

Ned, you should not deny the drinking/smoking allegations, it's much scarier to realize that you're in your non-altered state :D

Here, in Canada the use of fireworks is banned except for the Victoria Day and Canada Day long weekends (i think). Possession is legal as long as theyre not fired off. I think it works well. They are also only available on the market during these times (except on reserves where they are legal all year round). :)
