I'm looking to install a web based newsletter subscription management and delivery solution on our server. Would prefer php and sql backend, and can't seem to justify a 3rd party service for less than 5000 emails per month. Can anyone suggest an open source script as a basis for this, or a low cost package that can be installed on our servers and managed by our own staff? Thanks.

DadaMail is what we use and recommend. It's very good, and has lots of nice configurable options. (Like sending rate, restarting, etc...

i really like campaignmonitor.com - or when you get bigger, something like www.emailvision.com

I would also second Dada mail, you ultimately want to use something that has the ability to support remote SMTP so as you grow you can always switch to a dedicated mail server without having to redo the entire application.

campaignmonitor.com (http://www.campaignmonitor.com) is our favorite also. we tried many solutions, starting with the classic phplist, but we stick with CM for good.
