Synthetic 08-03-2002, 03:41 PM I think this thread more or less belongs in the "Job Offers and Requests" forum. But anyways, it would be nice if you included more information, rather than typing up a single sentence and asking us to e-mail/pm you. okihost 08-03-2002, 05:30 PM Save yourself some headaches and if your interested in getting in the hosting biz do it yourself.. Believe me alot of us have been there and done that and once in a blue moon a partnership works out. Also what exactly do you think the duties of a "vice-president" would be? ntwaddel 08-03-2002, 05:44 PM yes, start it yourself. I tried to do the partner thing for about a month. Needless to say, yesterday i was in court over it. :D Stay away from partnerships. JSpired 08-03-2002, 07:12 PM If you feel you must form a partnership to get off the ground, do your homework; don't just pick the first person who happens along this thread and wants to join up. A partnership is intended to be a long-term investment and ultimately will factor into how successful your business becomes. I'm not opposed to the idea partnerships, but so many people jump in headfirst without considering all the possible positives and negatives this type of arrangement brings. If you want to serve as Vice President because you don't feel you have the technical savvy to manage a server, perhaps you should consider starting out with a reseller's account while you learn. If you simply don't want to invest the time or energy into running a business, maybe you should opt to invest in an already "off the ground" company. Whatever you decide, good luck to you! I hope it all works out! VoxKeysGtr 08-03-2002, 07:13 PM VP is a pretty cool title, but not as cool as CEO. :) greengunboat 08-04-2002, 12:54 AM what are you bringing to the table? With the new law that came out, it's best not to be the CEO or CFO :D net-trend 08-04-2002, 06:36 AM well if you are serious about partnerships, go with someone you trust...like a good friend or even relatives.... clocker1996 08-04-2002, 06:48 AM yeah i would rather do it myself than partner up partnerships should be a REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY good friend, or a relative. only time id partner up is if it was something that wasn't really a big deal to me hehe roby2k 08-04-2002, 08:16 AM bascialy you have no money & you want to recive the profits but not share in the costs? Andyc 08-04-2002, 09:19 AM Originally posted by clocker1996 yeah i would rather do it myself than partner up partnerships should be a REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY good friend, or a relative. I disagree. I partnered with a friend in business (non-hosting) and now we are no longer friends. I think it is best to partner with maybe a good acquaintance but not good friend. To many things can go wrong. Just watch Startup.com. roby2k 08-04-2002, 10:18 AM ill start with you if you pay for the server etc |
