Just wondering if I should sell my hosting site. It has a unique design done by me and only 3 paying customers, I dont really have time to maintain it now because of a new job and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion of what I should ask for it. I know the customers dont really make a difference to the price but I think the site might be worth a few bob! ;)
any thoughts?

btw the url is http://www.dalehosting.com

I'm not sure what you mean.... sell the site design or completely sell up and sell as site & existing customers as a going concern?

Both are possible as the site design itself is great and I'm sure you won't have any problems getting "a few bob" for it in the Advertising Section :)

Also, if you are selling up and wish to transfer site + customers this is surely possible aswell. Again, invite people to offer in the ads forum and you should be fine.

In that case its completely up to you and for you to decide. If you do decide to sell up then there's your answer.

One thing though, please do the right thing by your customers and don't just go for the easiest option - you still want them to be happy even if you're getting out of the business don't you?

The design looks great. I think you should sell the design.

The 3 customers, however, I think you should do right by them and place them with a reliable and trustworthy host. I don't think selling 3 clients is going to affect your bottomline much, but it will greatly affect them. :)

I tend to agree with VoxKeysGtr. The site design is fantastic! Sell the design and then place your current clients with a reputable, trustworthy host who will be able to continue what you've started.

Thanks for the bids, Im hoping for a little more tho.
The winner will get the reseller account which has been paid up for another 4 months. So I'll just transfer that over so the current customers can stay on it.

I thought I would add these templates for sale as well ::

Template 2 ::http://www.sneakyservers.com/orange.gif

Can you please sort out what we are bidding on here....are we bidding on your business (3 customers), business site plus two more templates, or do we need to bid on each template seperately, and then the biz/customers/website, or what ?

What type of plans are the customers on? How far are they paid up, etc.

dalecom

sorry for the confusion : the two templates are separate.
The customers are 1 paid up for the year on the home plan.
1 account on the professional plan @£15 per month.
1 account on Intermediate plan @£10 per month.

$60.00?

i think it would be useful to list more info on it eg. Who the reseller account is with, how much space/bw you have etc. then you might get some serious offers.

dalecom

The reseller account is with genius-hosting.com and costs me £40 per 6 months which includes 10GB transfer and 1GB diskspace.
The customers do not use any where near this amount.

In your web site, you say that the customer need to pre-paid 3 months.

So, do they actually paid?

dalecom
08-05-2002, 08:17 AM
Yes they have paid 3 months in advance and are approaching the end of this period.

I bid $70.00

1 question, does dalehosting.co.uk is included in the package?

Jim_UK

Do the customers know they're being sold to the highest bidder? Are you doing any checks to ensure that they're best interests are looked for or are you just wanting out?

Also, what if someone wants the site but not the customers? From what I can see they are free to bid on everything then drop the customers once won (or maybe keep them for the revenue but then there's support etc etc).
