This thing is still amazing people, I saw this over 10 years ago and it scared the chit outta me then

lol, you must get scared pretty easily then...

The "after image" also works with color... If you have an image's color reversed, and stare at it for a min then stare at a blank piece of paper, you'll see the image in the original (correct) color...

When I last looked into this, nobody knows how or why this happens.

I hate when I do those things, the stupid image doesn't go away for a long time... its already been 3 min and i still see the outline of the man on my monitor screen althou thankfully its fading a bit

Didn't Time or one of those mags have a feature on what Jesus more than likely looked like. It turned out that he probably just looked like regular middle-eastern guy, or something like that. It was rather interesting. :)

Only in the whitewashed made-for-tv version. I personally don't buy that BS. Even Alladin looked Anglo in movies (with darker skin), which he obviously isn't.

Yes, that's what I mean. When people think of Jesus Christ, most people think of him as looking like this optical illusion does. Most likely he was darker in color and so fourth, but as far as what people commonly perceive him as having looked like, this fits it.

I could tell it was Jesus right off soon as I hit the page...Then closing my eyes saw it clearly...and dang it still see the afterimage in the monitor as I'm typing this!
