I'm looking for a simple program to keep track of reciprocal links.

I'm operating a specialized link directory and am finding that none of the directory programs I'm trying are doing what I want. The most important thing I'm looking for is link checking - I require sites that are listed in the directory to maintain a link back to my site.

If I had a program that I could list all of the reciprocal links in and have it check every so often (or whenever I tell it to) I could just create the site using my own layout.

Google search isn't turning up what I'm looking for so I was hoping for some first-hand testimonials and suggestions. I prefer free but don't mind paying a reasonable price.

Why not use PHP fopen()?

Directory Manager (http://www.seostart.com/dirman4/about/) is a pretty good free directory that has automated and manual reciprocal checking and more.

I have used a very good one in the past. Its called Linkman. It is very easy to customize and checks to make sure that the other website still has your link on there website. If they don't Linkman will remove your link from your website.

Heres the link to download: http://www.phpjunkyard.com/php-link-manager.php

I've been using linksmanager.com for reciprocal link checking. I've tried all of the link checking softwares out there since i manage link camapigns for dozens of my clients and linksmanager seems to be the most accurate at spotting tricks such as hidden links or links that appear to be genuine but really are not. it also lets me know when a webmaster uses nofollow.
