I just got a rac3 at 4webspace and I went to the "install software" section and put in http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/i386/RaQ3-RaQ4-MySQL-3.22.32-1.pkg
and I was wondering how long it takes to install. I tried 3 times and nothing happened. The last time I tried overnight, so it went for 10 hours. There didn't seem to be any time outs, the hour glass was still there. How long should it take?

When i first installed this it took 30 seconds.

We had the server reset at the weekend and had to re-install it it hung up 3 times so i downloaded the pkg to my desktop and uploaded to the server and it took 2 minutes to install.

Thats weird. I just started downloading it to my desktop now, and it say 50 minutes. It only took you 2min?

Download it directly to your server with wget, that way you won't have to download it it to your desktop and then upload it again to your server...

Doing an install from the command line is very simple.

Type the following:

wget http://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/packagename.pkg

Then:

/usr/local/sbin/cobalt_upgrade packagename.pkg

My experience with http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com:
Files download slower than a slug stapled to a board. I have DSL and it took forever to get the files onto my computer, and I'd imagine no matter how you try to get them, it won't be a quick process.
