 | View Full Version : is .us as domain name profitable??? daveyboy 08-02-2002, 04:06 PM hi i am thinking of buying a domain name with .us at the end of it, its a small 2worded domain name which i like a lot. What i want to know is if i choose to sell this later on will a .us name get much money or do only .coms get sold\?? thanks dave ffeingol 08-02-2002, 04:36 PM Well if it's a good name, you should be able to make something off of it. OTOH, there are a lot of restrictions on who can purchase a .us domain, so you limit your market. But generally, it is hard to just register a new name and sell it for a lot. The ones that go for a lot are usually .com's .us may be worth as little as 5% of their dotcom counterparts.
