The DedicatedNOW Data Center resides in Clifton, NJ, just 14 miles from New York City. Hey, is Debian an option for OS? Also, what's the setup time?

Debian is available, however, it carries a custom provisioning fee. We are working towards making it a standard operating system, though. :D

As far as provisioning time (thanks for asking this), if the order and payment authorization paperwork are back in our hands by 3 PM US Eastern time, we'll make every effort to get your server online by 9 PM or sooner that business day, otherwise it'll be complete on the next available business day.

DedicatedNow is a good service provider. We have lots of servers with them. I recommend them.

They are a great provider and its very nice to see many on the range being offered without those setup fee's, nice one Douglas.

the P4 2.8 blowout with cpanel and managednow stage 3 managed support. Your total would be $135 a month. Would something like that work for you.

I'm interested in something like this too. I currently have a server that's down and has been down for about 36 hours now. The uptime has been pretty good in the last year and a half, but when it goes down, it tends to go down for a long time. The service to fix it is really slow and frustrating, so I think I'm going to switch.

I have a dual Xeon 2.8 server with 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD, 1000GB BW. I don't think my existing sites really tax this server that much. Would I notice a huge difference switching to your server with lesser specs?

Finally, I notice the last customer asked about server migration. Is this something you offer if I went with the ManagedNow Stage 3 support? Thanks.

You can make a lateral move to a dual opteron 246 with 2GB RAM with dual 200GB HD's, Cpanel and ManagedNOW Stage3 for $255 a month. But, if you think you can get away with less, you can get the same box as suggested before and with ManagedNOW Stage3 yes we will help you migrate your site providing it is currently using cpanel.

Also your current hosting provider how can they let your box stay down for 36 hours without a major dc wide issue?

Well, unfortunately, I'm only paying $125 per month for this server, along with $29 per month for Platinum Server Management. The price is obviously great, though I paid a $250 setup fee originally. The server has also been great, but it's gone down for about five times in a year and a half, and three of those times, it was down for more than 24 hours. The first time it went down, they just swapped out the whole server. This time, they claim it's a motherboard problem, but they don't have any servers to swap it with. They're also incredibly slow to respond to trouble tickets asking for updates, and don't have a support phone number, which is really frustrating. I fear it'll be days before it's back up again if they have to order a motherboard.
