I have found a few in the past. I'm sure they say not to do it in their TOS, but they just dont check for it.
Anyone know of hosting companies like this?

![]() | View Full Version : Does anyone know of a host who doesnt care about copyrighted MP3s on their server? CW WTF? 08-02-2002, 01:58 PM I have found a few in the past. I'm sure they say not to do it in their TOS, but they just dont check for it. Anyone know of hosting companies like this? RackNine 08-02-2002, 01:59 PM I'm confident the RIAA would like to know this as well. -Matt Butters4lyf 08-02-2002, 02:01 PM Cw, download a little thing called mIRC. Rochen 08-02-2002, 02:06 PM I am sure reputable hosting companies will remove content from their servers that infringes copyright and/or the TOS/AUP should they know it is there. skylab 08-02-2002, 02:07 PM was the original poster hosted at cyberwings before? Nightstalker 08-02-2002, 02:16 PM If I knew I wouldn't tell you, thief. Why don't you try doing something legal instead of living off the hard work of others. skylab 08-02-2002, 02:18 PM oh yeah, he is/was hosted at cyberwings. i take it cyberwings doesn't care about copyrighted material being on their servers? interesting. Rochen 08-02-2002, 02:20 PM Originally posted by skylab i take it cyberwings doesn't care about copyrighted material being on their servers? From reading numerous pages of posts about this company over the past few weeks, it doesn't look like they care about a lot of things  okihost 08-02-2002, 02:22 PM Ummm I dont think your going to have much luck finding a host that is going to host your illegal MP3's for you and risk the chance of having his/her server pulled.. I would suggest leaving the MP3 trading to the P2P clients. RRolfe 08-02-2002, 02:25 PM Originally posted by rochen From reading numerous pages of posts about this company over the past few weeks, it doesn't look like they care about a lot of things  yes i get the same feeling. skylab 08-02-2002, 02:27 PM hahah, yeah, i should have added that also! ATST 08-02-2002, 02:32 PM OMG! Besides not being the "CW victims" personal forum, WHT is also not a "Help me find a illegal host" forum. Nightstalker 08-02-2002, 02:42 PM Thats bad WHT getting scammed when you were planning on scamming others. How will you make a living? CW WTF? 08-02-2002, 02:45 PM I don't know if cyberwings does that or not. I was just curious. I guess there isn't any huh? Thanks guys. Nightstalker 08-02-2002, 02:47 PM I meant CW WTF in previous post. TowerHost 08-02-2002, 02:50 PM If you want to get illegal mp3s then log onto Kazaa or any other P2P network. If you are the owner of the mp3s then there will be no problem finding hosting. Using a web host account as an mp3 dump is not a very smart thing to do if you aren't the owner of the files. neil 08-02-2002, 03:56 PM if you want illegal content - go to the right place to find it - gnutella clients. However - It has always been my personal belief that the content in a users account is their property - and what they do with it is their business. I'll probly get flamed for this - but note that if things such as child pornography, stolen credit card information.. etc - action will be taken. ned patter 08-02-2002, 04:11 PM I agree with the boy Neil.. In my experience most hosts don't care about mp3's, yep once you sign up they don't care about small things like that and neither they should.. Anyway isn't mp3's on website a bit outdated unless there rare files?. neil 08-02-2002, 04:13 PM The Boy?? lol j/k :D :D :D webkami 08-02-2002, 04:31 PM AS its totally illegal so i ll recomend you a host that will never ask you about the COPYRIGHT thing . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . http://localhost:D ned patter 08-02-2002, 04:35 PM Originally posted by neil The Boy?? lol j/k :D :D :D Sorry that lassy Neil. devon 08-02-2002, 04:57 PM He didn't say anything about serving them to others. It's not illegal to make MP3s of your CDs and store them on a server, despite what anyone may tell you. If he's distributing them, then it's illegal, but he didn't say anything about that. ATST 08-02-2002, 04:58 PM 1) A sever implies that files are being served, and 2) he/she didn't ask about file storage, he/she asked about hosting which will occur on a server. Neil might just be a man. neil 08-02-2002, 05:34 PM man is indeed correct - LOL =) sorry for that :fork: AussieHosts 08-02-2002, 06:49 PM Originally posted by devon It's not illegal to make MP3s of your CDs Do you have a reference for that? You're reproducing a copyright piece of work, whether for distribution or not. Cheers Gary GAMPort 08-03-2002, 04:24 AM It has actually been made legal in Denmark as long as it is for personal use and I'm sure Denmark isn't the only country. faculty 08-03-2002, 05:35 AM in Australia doing that is legal only for "backup" purposes! So no sharing :P AussieHosts 08-03-2002, 06:00 AM I didn't think that applied here (in Australia), except in the case of some software where the EULA states it. Music CD's can't be reproduced in any form can they? Gary RobTheGolfer 08-03-2002, 09:16 AM This was just a pointless topic to post as no host will allow this regardless. Fiber 08-03-2002, 11:06 PM Originally posted by Butters4lyf Cw, download a little thing called mIRC. There are no mp3s on IRC. Access to them, but they aren't stored on IRC servers. |
