View Full Version : VOIPraider.com?..a waste of money
viratshah 10-31-2007, 10:52 AM Hello,
i signed up with VOIPraider.com yesterday...
i paid $10 and got my account activated...
i was on the phone with a friend from romania last night and i spoke for 2 hours...
no problem there...
i called up a few US based companies and spoke for another hour...no problem there either..
but then i sent about 60 SMSs...i got charged for 20 of them!!!
7 cents each
NOTE: all these services are supposed to be unlimited & free for the first 90 days
i made a few calls to canada after that which were supposed to be free...but they charged me for it
i am now left with $2.5 in my account ...$7.5 gone in one day!!!
I advice all of you to stay away from them...
they call their services UNLIMITED, but their "Fair Use Policy" enables them to charge us for calls if they think we're misusing them!
Well, they shdn't advertise "UNLIMITED" if they aren't gonna let u talk for even 5-6 hours a day!
WTH????
I need suggestions for a VOIP provider who allows free Unlimited calls to a few countries....(preferably india)
give me ure suggestions about the ones tht do provide unlimited free calls for a small rental...
thanks alot
PS: STAY AWAY FROM VOIP RAIDER . COM
Jay August 10-31-2007, 11:34 AM What's up with good ol'Skype?
viratshah 10-31-2007, 11:46 AM do they give SIP settings so i can use it from my cell?
viratshah 10-31-2007, 07:35 PM can't anybody suggest anything else to me?
ccowling 10-31-2007, 11:52 PM Your asking for free calls to landlines right? E.g. Calls that will cost the VOIP provider money to terminate? ... I'd say that would be difficult to find especially for 5-6hrs a day worth of talk time..
Ashley Merrick 11-01-2007, 08:22 AM If you read their terms and conditions it states that the trial is 60 minutes of free calls.
Also that once you have registered (which is what you are), you have 300 minutes of free calls per a Week. After the 300 minutes you are charged at the setout fees untill the start of the next month.
They have done nothing wrong, you have just not read their Terms and Conditions.

IT SAYS UNLIMITED FREE CALLING TO THE DESTINATIONS..WTH!!!
anyways..
they aren't answering my emails either
well,, i guess i'm leaving them
any
ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A NICE VOIP PROVIDER WITH UNLIMITED FREE CALLING OPTION AT A MONTHLY RENTAL?
Mr. Obvious 11-02-2007, 02:07 AM Skype :)
/me inserts fluff to make me able to post this.
Xandrios 11-02-2007, 03:56 AM And even if they would use a 'fair use policy', 5-6 hours a day is not 'normal usage'. That is quite excessive.
viratshah 11-02-2007, 06:47 AM Well, they shdn't call it unlimited then
Mr. Obvious 11-02-2007, 09:19 AM I'm not seeing where they offer "unlimited" calling anywhere :)
ATLDedicated 11-03-2007, 05:13 PM Skype will be your best bet...
As for normal voip I like Quantumvoice (http://www.quantumvoice.com/) since they are unlimited to US and Canada and have decent international rates (http://www.quantumvoice.com/rates_intl.php?display=all).
pitabread 11-05-2007, 07:54 PM I signed up and paid using this service and it's horrible. It says 120 days but that's a lie it's actually 90 days! Another thing is that it's not free! I'm getting billed every min for calls that are listed as free destinations when using SIP. I tried contacting them and they won't respond to my emails and what not! I would not recommend anyone using this service.
It states no where in their FAQ that sip calls will be charged differently and what not! Basically you pay thinking it's free and not respond to your emails and keeping your money.

lonexxx 01-06-2008, 11:43 PM Hi every one .. I wished I would have seen this post before buying the credit on voipraider...
Anyways now I am stuck up in a bigger problem. They actually dont have any client for Linux. I tried to setup Twinkle but it didnt worked. If anyone knows any good one...Please help me out with that...
The other option they are giving is phone to phone which really sucks... It cost 50 cents added connection fee...and total expense is much much more than the skype...
raghavan85 01-18-2008, 04:22 AM Bloody Farters VOIPRAIDER.com is ...
Yesterday i bought credit from VOIPRAIDER for 10 $
i could make calls to india and other places for 1 dollar for yesterday. Today morning, when i tried to use my account to call india, it didnt work at all. Infact, no call went through. Not even the Free calls within US. I've tried for 20 hours and it still isnt working.. Those people are doing fraud like hell..
When i created another account, all free calls are going.. Clearly it is not the website problem, but they have just kinda made it inactive.
Those rogues dont have a phone no for customer support. When i sent a mail/feedback, i got back a reply asking me what the error was. I immediately told them clearly over another mail and through another feedback again, but they havent replied at all...
Damn those guys... Does any one have the Customer support phone number of VOIP RAIDER. Please mail me to raghavan85@yahoo.com and tell me what i can do now.
I am so furious right now that i can eat those people in VOIPRAIDER. I advice you all NEVER BUY CREDIT FROM VOIPRAIDER. NEVER USE VOIPRAIDER.
I wanna lodge a cybercrime and i wish they get screwed up.
SanServe : : Matt 01-18-2008, 10:46 AM We have had great success with gradwell.com business VoIP... its all backed up with a highly competent support team.

xlchell 02-09-2008, 02:56 AM what the he... is going on there
paulhuynh 02-10-2008, 12:06 AM Just like our hosting business
there are many company here offer unlimited storage / tranfer
We all know that cant be
In Voip if you are lookign for quality service
Try this people.
IDV.net
we have use them for years NP
they charge per min. as well as unlimited on only a few select countries.
well, there really is such a thing as unlimited, but not for long-distance. Some wholsale providers (myself included) will offer per-channel rates where it is assumed that there will be continuious usage on the channels. Generally these are to certain market areas or for inbound calling as just like in the telecom world, long-distance termination costs real money per min, even if it is just factions of a cent.
For IP type people, it is probably best to remember that VOIP is just like bandwidth, it costs money in increments. Often several legs worth of transport have to be paid for, which is what makes long-distance more expensive, let alone the billing costs and the huge number of different rates for LD termination in the US (for example, i can tell you from experence that our costs to US48 are outlined in about 8 pages from each of our carriers as there are about 6 different rates per LATA).

gaquarian 07-24-2008, 09:20 AM Hi.
Hello,
i signed up with VOIPraider.com six moth ago.
i paid $10 and got my account activated...
i made 2hours calls.
But at Third day voipraider didnt make my calls.
Whenever i try to make call on differnet destination around the world, they give error code33, and give error message other party call the ended.
And now still its six month i cant make calls, i have still 8.76dollar balance.
I have send so many emailz to voipraider about this error but they ****ers didnt even reply me.
Voipraider is totally fraud company. And they have same calling software with differnet names.
If someone help me? plz reply
bearnone 08-24-2008, 01:00 PM Yes, voipraider is a waste of money. Better to use even another Betamax group and pay, then expect that you will do better by the "illusionary" 300 minutes free on voipraider. I have paid the monthly subscription fee on a couple of betamax sites besides voipraider that also advertize the free minutes, and they seem ok. Something wrong at voipraider.
Xaurora 08-26-2008, 07:10 AM why don't you use skype? i see a few people have recommended it.
JustinAY 09-01-2008, 12:10 AM Is it just me or does this pitabread guy type exactly like the OP and every single one of their posts is in this thread.
