I am number 143 and I have yet to hear anything. Does anyone know whats going on? ATST 08-02-2002, 01:19 PM Still beating that dead horse eh? Whats going on is CW is trying to get enough new customers to pay for the new servers to put those remaining people who didn't have the sense to leave yet on. Or is that too complicated for you? If you need hosting, go and get hosting. REAL hosting, not some con-artist promising stuff he cannot (or will not) deliver. I am sorry you got ripped off. It happens sometimes. Please lick your wounds and move on. As it may suit you, keep an eye out for future victims of this leaching company, and be sure to warn them. Then you can get mad at them too, when they don't take your advise and come back here crying. I paid for five months of hosting where the perl didn't work, and the host keep saying it would be fixed. I got a new host after three months, (in hindsight, it should have been a week) and left completely after four, but of course they charged me one more time. He still comes back here to promote himself and suck in new victims. When he does, I am there. Funny he never acknowledges my posts. Rochen 08-02-2002, 01:48 PM You appear to like making threads and usernames about CyberWings ;) CW WTF? 08-02-2002, 01:53 PM Umm, whatever. I just wanted to know if anyone had their account activated yet, or any new information about whats going. I didn't ask for your opinion. Originally posted by ATST Still beating that dead horse eh? Why don't you post this question in one of the many CW threads already started? Heck there is one just for people who either got refunds or webhosting from CW! When did WHT become the meeting place for CW victims? Beyond posting what CW did, and how they treated people, continuing to treat this forum as the "CW victims" personal webspace is uncalled for. smidwap 08-02-2002, 02:18 PM We should all just take a deep breath, and exhale. Get all of that  out of our system. Now could someone tell me: Is it against the rules to post threads about Cyberwings at WHT? And ATST: I think the moderators would have already done something if it was really so terrible to post about Cyberwings. anne2000 08-02-2002, 02:36 PM I agree with smidwap. Cyberwings customers have been reading about alternative hosts on WHT and purchasing other hosting plans because they are reading about the pros and cons of other hosting companies on WHT, and CW customers have been increasing the page views for WHT which makes WHT much more desirable to advertisers and search engines. So CW customers are helping this forum - not hurting it. Naturally, CW customers and former CW customers are interested in getting their money back and notifying others about CW so that future people don't make the same mistakes that the present CW customers have made. What's wrong with that? Isn't that one of the purposes of these forums? Sure CW customers can keep adding to the many posts that have already been posted; but because of the needs of many of them to recoup their losses as soon as possible, they need to have their concerns addressed as quickly as possible - so sometimes it's better to start a new thread. Again, what's wrong with that? I know that I am repeatedly posting this type of message, but I'm REALLY angry that experienced people who should be helping to advise former CW customers, are attacking and intimidating them instead. ATST 08-02-2002, 02:45 PM If peoples intentions were to get the word out how about what a scam CW is, it would serve the best interest of all to be in just a few threads. Now if people are so selfish to think that each victim needs to start their own (or several) thread(s) about it, then some information may be lost to those that need it, such as potential victims. This guy(gal) apearently hasn't been victimised enough yet, as he(she) keeps comming back for more. What will the new nameservers be? Probably the same as before. and what good would they be anyway, if they aren't activated yet? If they are activated, a whois will show what they are. tamoore 08-02-2002, 02:56 PM ATST appears to not be a very nice person:puke: Samuel 08-02-2002, 03:09 PM Gain support through your vendor, not WHT It's been said countless times by different moderators that WHT is not a support board for the different hosts. That said, it's clear that CW can't even provide their customers with name servers for them to use so ask them directly. citrus 08-02-2002, 03:20 PM If you had a bad experience with a host and you wish to warn others feel free to post it. But the thing about cyberwings is; all the victims come here and post the same crap that's been posted at least a million times. Although we don't have to read it if we don't want to, it's just so annyoing seeing, "Cyberwings screwed me!" and "Cyberwings Sucks ass!." It's just the same old crap, and everyone already knows never to use cyberings again. So how about we all stop beating a dead horse and get on with other things... Just my $0.02...:) jt2377 08-02-2002, 03:51 PM Originally posted by CW WTF? nameservers, so i can change them in advance. I am number 143 and I have yet to hear anything. Does anyone know whats going on? you post too many thread about CW and you sound like you try to let people know that CW will build back someday i.e. asking if anyone got refuned or build back(maybe you do work for CW?) stop the spam. move your post to other CW thread. anne2000 08-02-2002, 03:52 PM Samuel wrote: "It's been said countless times by different moderators that WHT is not a support board for the different hosts." citrus wrote: "...So how about we all stop beating a dead horse and get on with other things..." ********** Response: I could care less about 99% of the threads on this list. Right now I only care about getting some money back and finding out how I can do that without making matters worse (like losing my account with PayPal due to asking for a chargeback from my credit card company, or having my credit rating affected by my credit card company for asking for a chargeback, or how possible it is to get refunds from transactions that occurred a few months ago, and other things like that). This nastiness that I've seen on this list makes me sick. I may just leave this list anyway, and I wonder how many other people are going to leave it, as well. Then, suddenly, WHT won't have as many people to kick around, and potential hosting companies and programmers and webdesigners won't have as many potential customers as they might have had. It's bad enough that Shawn White abused his customers. I didn't expect this forum to have so many 'Shawn Whites' who are so quick to abuse others. It's disgusting! Rotifer 08-02-2002, 04:04 PM Don't take it personally Anne. One thing about forums, it is sometimes easy to forget about the person behind the posts. Were you to ask for help with your problem without mentioning, uh, that word - people would fall all over themselves helping you. Considering that your former host no longer exists I don't know what your chances are of getting your money back (I once worked in the credit card division of a large bank) but a chargeback certainly won't affect your credit rating. It is a little strange that people feel the need to start an entirely different thread to deal with the same issue over and over again. My point is, there are a great many knowledgeable, helpful individuals if you need help. Good luck! anne2000 08-02-2002, 04:25 PM I appreciate your response and information - especially the reassurance that the chargeback won't affect my credit rating. I was told that the credit card companies go after PayPal - not the actual company (in this case, CW). I can understand that people might be more supportive if I didn't use the 'CW' word, but because there is a potential time factor (the limited amount of time that people have to ask for a chargeback from PayPal or their credit card company) and a potential 'in unity, there is strength' factor with the former CW customers, I prefer to use the 'CW' word. I believe that if others hadn't already complained about CW to PayPal, PayPal would have required more information from me before determining that CW is in the wrong. Unfortunately, there was no more money in CW's account at that point in time. I would prefer if the CW customers would discuss these issues on http://www.yepo.com/ but I can't force them to do that. I do think that everyone on these forums should remember that there are small businesses who are trying to obtain customers through these forums, and there are potential customers who are trying to purchase business from reputable businessmen and are hoping to find that information on these forums; but if people are rude and foul-mouthed, they are just going to turn customers away. Most customers want to be treated courteously. As a result, I would think that the legitimate small entrepreneurs would try to discourage the foul-mouthed detractors. Just my 2 cents. Too bad the people here that have been trying to tell you to leave the scam that was CyberWings are seen as the bad guys even though we are not the ones who have ripped you off. |
