I currently own phpmanager, webhostingbilling, and perlbill, i have to say you get what you pay for and i think for myself phpmanager is a big piece of ****, you know what is $30 or $40 so i didn't care but i installed it and thought it was crap. It just wasn't enough for me but hey everyone seems to like it for some strange reason. I put phpmanager email addresses in my spam protection, because all the damn emails i get from them now because of there new version. and from someone that sells some damn ugly skins for it.

I really really like webhostingbillin.com, if you can afford it it is well worth it, and is vary professional. I recommend this to everyone if you don't mind paying what they are asking. I mean i just looked at it as a one time payment that is well worth it.

PerlBill is pretty good to once you customize it a bit, I mean thats the nice thing it is open source and you can do whatever you want to it if you know what your doing. I am using this for a cpanel skins site i am working on not hosting. It does come with cpanel integration.

Overall i am not surprised phpmanager is popular because of its price. I still think it sucks. But it does the job i guess.

Thanks for everyones time this is just my .02 cents.

If you are going to be big then webhosting billing if your planning on staying small use phpmanger since it is not vary professional.

I was pretty skeptical about using phpmanager. Usually you do get what you pay for. I'm looking to implement this billing system specifically for dedicated servers. webhostingbilling looks good.....are there any others out there that are just as good or better ?

I disagree with IGV when it comes to phpManager. I use it as a simple, quick and easy order processing and billing system. For that use, it works perfectly for me.

I have also used Modernbill and liked it. I especially like the depth of information you can set up and the ability to have multiple domains in one account. However, the extra comes at a price-more time to setup customers and process orders.

Both, in my opinion, are good products, just use the demos to insure they will meet your specific needs.

We've found modernbill to be the best billing software so far.

I mean Ingognito i don't like it because its to simple, not much to it and i don't trust it. All the emails i get now for fixes, ouch wouldn't touch the thing. And like you said

"I use it as a simple, quick and easy order processing and billing system."

It is to simple and you know what i can't say how secure it is. Again this is just my personal opinion

successful - what type of billing integration are you looking for, and since it is for dedicated servers then integration with cpanel isn't a requirement but is nice for the future.

We're going to be starting a dedicated server company shortly and we need an automated billing system. From what I've seen so far it looks like http://www.webhostingbilling.com is the most powerful solution at present for web hosts. Correct me if I'm wrong.......

My vote would go for either webhostingbilling or modernbill. Both are great, professional, well written solutions and I'm sure Gary at webhostingbilling can give you a special deal if you send him a message.

Hi,

I currently own phpmanager, webhostingbilling, and perlbill, i have to say you get what you pay for and i think for myself phpmanager is a big piece of ****, you know what is $30 or $40 so i didn't care but i installed it and thought it was crap.

Why didn't you try the demo or the trial first?

I put phpmanager email addresses in my spam protection, because all the damn emails i get from them now because of there new version. and from someone that sells some damn ugly skins for it.

If you actually read the emails, you will see that you can stop the emails from being sent to you in the members area.

All the emails i get now for fixes, ouch wouldn't touch the thing

Would you rather me not release any fixes?

Everyone has their own opinions, and I respect that. Please can you share with me why you think phpManager is so crap?

This will help me to offer more features in the future so that it is not "too simple", even at the low price of $30.

Regards,

Locutus

I mean for $30 i didn't expect much. I wish it was more professional looking thats the huge thing. I know its cheap but i don't like the trouble ticket system. Maybe i will play around with the new version and see if can make some professional skins for it. Even though I probably will never use it. It is just my personal opinion nothing really against the program. I did test it before i bought it and well i thought maybe it would be okay but i also thought i could modify it more. Oh well I wanted to let successful
know what i thought and that webhostingbilling is the best one out there and of course you can tell because of the price.

And yes I understand fixes but i mean there has been like 5 or more fixes since the new rls. Its good that there are fixes but how do we know what the next fix is, maybe a big security whole, who knows and personally i don't want to know. I can see phpManager growing to become more professional.

Maybe have a Standard and a Professional version.

Thanks for listening,
William
