Well I know for awhile there it was getting on my nerves that they would have network issues every week, but I can honestly say that there have been nothing major during the last few weeks on all 4 of my servers there.

RackShack took a dive, network performance significantly decreasing. My server is very slow there, almost to the point I dont even want to bother accessing it.

I have more connectivity issues with our Pwebtech server, than our RackShack server.

Strange... starting about 2 weeks ago one of my RS servers has significantly increased in speed.. also main site for RS is faster for me loading.

rastoma! give these people their speed back!!!!!

:)

ok, sorry. i was just kidding. however, i have noticed some slowdowns in certain subnets of rackshack, however, i've noticed alot of increases in performance from others. i know that 4 people i know using always webhosting are saying their speeds have seemingly increased greatly.

Well i don't really like bitching, cause of the prices we are paying, but i have to agree, our servers go down, every few days for 10 or so minutes, on average, once it was 60 minutes, once it was 30, once it was a couple of hours. It does get annoying.

I think since RS started to charge for overages their network will improve otherwise it would have just got worse. Everyone wishes every network never went down and if one line did the others would pick up without you or your customers noticing.

The one thing I find is so funny is that:
1: People don't have copies of their sites or databases

2. Everyone is losing money (1000's) an hour for every min of downtime.

It is like come off it people, if your making 1000's an hour you probably should have a server colocated at a nice datacenter. I am a RS customer who went there because of the price, but it was better than my last two hosts.

Bottom line is no one likes downtime, but I think I actually saw one host who had a planned outage to test to see if their bgp4/failover solution worked. I really liked that idea, it is like testing your generators or testing smoke alarms. In case something happens you want to have a good idea if it will work or not.

My thoughts sorry for the ramble

Really? That's surprising as I always assume Pwebtech has great network connectivity via NAC.

Mostly issues going from Verizon/Genuity to them.

And, the occasional bit of odd lag.

While their reports, like you guys said about a couple weeks ago ,of your servers being slow. Mine was blazing away, faster than usual. However recently for me, it has been slow. I guess it is just my subnet expiriencing difficulties however.
