View Full Version : Manage domains from one place (different registrars)

A few months ago, I played with a nifty online utility to allow me to manage all of my domains (at different registrars) from one location. I thought it was cool, but had no need for it at the time. Today, however, I had to log in to 5 domain registrars to find the name I was looking for...

Does anyone know the name of the tool that I'm talking about?

I would be worried about using a third party online interface to manage my domains. You have to give them your passwords? If a registration or transfer fails who do you blame? The registrar or dnzoom?

Giving a third party interface your passwords is risky, keep a list offline for ready reference

why not yse this... manage all domain DNS at one place...

http://www.mydomain.com

mydomain provide free DNS for domain with other registar.

it is more safer..

My main issue is that I can't remember where all of my domains are at. By using dnzoom (or other similar service) I can log in and quickly see where my domains are at.

I don't use the service for registrations or renewals, but simply for a quick look-see where my names are at (The excel spreadsheet was getting too big for me)

I think it is better to set-up your own script for this if you have premium domain names. Using a 3rd party service entails that you give your username and password.

How many domains do you have? I have a fairly large number scattered across registrars, so I was wondering at what stage it becomes unmanageable.

Keep in mind that I am a fairly scatter-brained individual, so unmanageable for me might be perfectly simple for someone else.

Across all registrars, I have only around 250 domains...

In a Excel file, open a different worksheet for each registrar and keep a list of domains updated regularly. Should work for 10 times the number of domains.

I am using dnki method as a backup, keeping updated is my problem..

If there were just a place where you can monitor all your domains and ssl certs online, and would notify you near expiration, that would be great! Hint, hint for someone looking to start a new online biz ;)

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to stop by and see if anyone had any questions. I also wanted to throw out a tidbit of info as well so there are no worries about security moving forward.

Giving a third party interface your passwords is risky

I completely and whole-heartedly understand this statement. When we started developing dnZoom we knew this would be a very valid concern and we have done a great deal to address this. For instance...

The username and the password BOTH for your accounts are 100% encrypted. So much so that even we cannot get them.

Also, once you create an account, that account is locked down to your IP address. If your IP changes, you have to go through a series of questions that you answered previously, and also confirm via email that it is actually you who is trying to login.

Using a 3rd party service entails that you give your username and password.

And finally, we know some people are so security minded that they will never store their username and password. And that's a-ok. We have developed a feature that will allow even those folks to use dnZoom. It does not require a username or a password.

There is an import feature within dnZoom where you can upload your domains via an excel spreadsheet. After that, you can add all of your accounts (for labeling purposes), but leave out your username and password. This way you have all of your info at your finger tips, and you don't have to worry about spreadsheets any longer. Basically, all of the power of dnZoom, but w/o the worries of inputting a user/pass.

Afterwards, if you decide you want to use the automation, you will be prompted for your username and password, and that info will not be stored unless you turn on the "store password" option.

I hope I addressed all of the concerns. Also, dnZoom is free for right now while we are in beta. Enjoy!

Sean Stafford

And you will get the email with an invite code. We push them out manually and I will have them pushed out after I get your signup.

Thanks!

With the kind of internet connection available here, I have a different IP address every time I connect to the internet.
Also DNZoom seems to be developed for parked domains, is anything available for developed sites? The payout of some of the parking companies is next to nothing, developed sites are easily monetised and more useful.

DnZoom connects to both the registrars and the parking companies, so if you just want to manage the domains that are pointing to your sites then it will work for you.

However, I'm not aware of a tool that assists with developed sites. Maybe someone else here has seen something like that?

Take care!

Dnzoom are not uopdating they registrars interfase often. I am dissapointed because at first glance only suppoort really very few registrars , and directi, partial supported before (first 25 domains in) now is giving an error.

Actually Rebel RPM is more useful and not too espectacular. DNZOOM Need be concreted ASAP or cant gen momentum, IMHO, of course.

Hi! I will be more than happy to get you going on our platform.

Email me: sean@dnzoom.com and we will go from there. I apologize that you didn't get anything from us already.

Thanks for the input. Keep in mind that the software is still in Beta. We have not released a RC candidate yet. Furthermore, the software is free for the time being in order to encourage people to signup, and when they find bugs, report them.

I do know that directI is still being worked on, so your response has not fallen on deaf ears. ;)

Thanks!
